A/V Star Wars Eclipse High Republic “video game”!

Depending on the timing of this game, I'm wondering if Plagueis is involved. The inclusion of the Neimoidians and what is apparently Naboo suggests a link between the two, even if all we know right now is that they're featured in the same game.

Lucas originally considered Plagueis to be a Neimoidian (I'm preaching to the choir here, I think most of you know that) -- so could one of the Neimoidians involved in this plot be Plagueis? I would personally be slightly saddened he is no longer a Muun, but at the same time, there seems to be a lot more story potential if Plagueis were a Neimoidian, and Palpatine mired Naboo in the trade fiasco in a plot that went back decades. And I'm not saying the Clone Wars plot was Plagueis's idea, it could be Plagueis was doing his own thing (featured in this game) and Palpatine slowly put his own Naboo front and center on the political stage.

I realize this is extrapolating a lot, but Neimoidians + Naboo in a time that looks closer to TPM than the High Republic stories we've seen so far looks mighty suspicious. Like stars aligning. Or planets. Making an eclipse. Actually no, this analogy is not working. But you get my drift.

Come on, Plagueis might be revealed as half-Neimoidian half Muun... which would finally explain his nose issues in some depictions!

Given the Naboo are the rolemodel society the Empire is shaped after as elaborated in another topic way back, its past may hold interesting secrets to yet uncover. Like House Palpatines past before young Palpy... what was Cosinga involved in and up to? Why is the Palpatine bloodline so powerful in the Force anyway? Or Plagueis earlier Naboo involvement may have ties to Cosinga Palpatine and due to this, fears about the Sith and the like he was angry at Sheev and did not want him to pay for his fathers sins or be snatched by the Sith? Did Plagueis help hide Sheev from Jedi testing infants galaxywide for Force abilities?

I think Eclipse will deal with Plagueis Master and how Plagueis overthrew that one and became the Sith Master himself and started to groom Palpatine from way before the Legends Plagueis novel showed us. A direct prequel to that one actually! But through the eyes of other characters involved in a regional conflict that is interwoven with hints at what is really going on. Maybe a novel or else will tell the villains side of the story then.

I hope if they are going fully to explore the time between High Republic and TPM, that we also get the story of Shmi's ancestors and parents and what happened to her till Anakin's birth. But that is not in Eclipse. A previous generation of Skywalkers though... might be.

those seem to be police or sentinels of some kind, we see a pair of them moments later patrolling the street wielding pikes. If this is Jedha, perhaps they are Guardians of the Temple of the Whills.Or just Jedha City police.

 

Anybody else think those crescent shaped fighters looked extraordinarily similar to death-gliders from Stargate?

Like...MGM gonna sue somebody...similar?

I was thinking they looked like the F-302s earth built to combat the death gilders.

 

Stargate is now Star Wars canon. In a way Stargate could be connected to AGFFA.

I've been praying to get a team exploring the Gree and Kwa hypergate network inuniverse for ages.. Dawn of the Jedi era had my hopes highest actually for that to happen. Galaxy of Fear style series with people trapped without a ship having to go planet to planet by all other means of old, arcane travel methods long forgotten or discontinued? Hypergates, hyperspace cannons, sleeper ship in cryo, even WBW like portals or other arcana until they happen to find an inhabited world with modern tech so they can hop back on a ship? It'd be a journey of a lifetime.

Legends could have done it post Crucible too with the Mortis Knights actually looking for Tho Yors and such arcane technology and people experimenting with ascension methods like Daniel Jackson did in Stargate and Jedi and Sith in FOTJ.

A Dawn of the Jedi setting might have benefitted from the Rakata acting as system lords akin to the Goa'uld. Replicators may be Abominor. etc. Stargate works as Dawn of the Jedi continuation showing how the Jee'dai left Tython and instigated slave rebellions and ultimately lead to the defeat of the Rakata system lords and Infinite Empire. Other enemies rising in their wake before any Republic can form or spread galaxywide of course then would temporarily also have to be set back or defeated... i.e.Abominor, etc. And the rest of Stargate also fits SW like a glove... the other galaxy of Stargate Atlantis may be a satellite galaxy and some characters trace galactic history back to that one... or some species movements at least when trying to figure out the gate networks and origins. What if Gree and Kwa were not the first ones to use them or invent them? What if someone from a satellite galaxy seeded them as in the brilliant Stargate Universe series?

• ⁠Quantic Dream is having engine issues. Its current engine is made for smaller levels with limited AI, meaning more cinematic games like Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human.
• ⁠Because of these engine issues and because they greatly desire more resources, they've been (unsuccessfully) seeking a publisher to acquire them.
• ⁠The trailer seen at The Game Awards was done by the same team behind the cinematic reveal trailer for Far Cry 6, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and other titles and was possibly another attempt to get a publisher to buy Quantic Dream.
• ⁠Due to the many allegations against Quantic Dream, the company is having staffing issues and is finding it hard to get Paris-based game developers to work for them.
• ⁠The game has been in development for about 18 months and is likely 4-5 years from release.
• ⁠Quantic Dream's Paris office (under David Cage's leadership) is writing the game, while the Montreal office is executing their vision.
• ⁠Quantic Dream wanted to make their own original space-based game back in 2013, but Sony (with whom they had a 3-game publishing agreement at the time) refused to greenlight the project. Eclipse features a few assets originally made for that game (code-named Project Karma).

Yeah this game even when comes out in 4-5 years, will be met with backlash.

 

And that is if it comes out. Games get canceled all the time under the best of circumstances, and with QD reputation among both customers and potential employees, these are hardly the best of circumstances. In the end, there might just be a trailer, and the lingering question of what was happening in any of it.

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath for this. It was a cool cinematic, but that's it.

 

Disappointing if true. Not surprising given the state of SW games in recent years, but disappointing nontheless.

 

the twwet campaign still goes on, i wonder how they deal with this. With promotion and ads for this game. I doubt they abondon this game.
