    What is interesting is that the official press release (posted above, and here on the LucasArts site);

    http://www.lucasarts.com/press/releases/91.html

has NO platforms on it at all, which is very unlike LucasArts - so there's a glimmer of hope for you PC users.

On X-Box and PS2 only? No GameCube?

Well, I'm glad I bought my Xbox two weeks ago to go along with my Cube! :)

I think it would be really stupid of Lucasarts to NOT release this for the PC. There are many people like me who do not have a video game system such as X-BOX or PS2. But almost everybody has access to a PC. This is the final Star Wars movie. Thousands of people will see it. Which means thousands of people, who don't game very often, will want to buy this game. If it doesn't come out for the PC there will be many people, such as myself, who would have bought it if only there was PC version. From a marketing standpoint it just doesn't make since. If they don't make a PC version they are depriving themselves of thoiusands of dollars in sales.

So I'm hoping that they will see the light and make a PC version.

BTW, I didn't mean to be redundant when I made the new thread to ask about this. I just couldn't find this thread on the directory...

I doubt they would do something like this but here is a reason you might not want it to be on the PC... Spider-man 2.

Yea, the PC version of that game was terrible. I'm getting a PS2.

People wine over console ports for PC, saying they're too 'consoly' in how they're built up. When they don't make them you complain.

You'll probably find it's actually 2 sets of people complaining about the two different things.

It may come as a shock to you, but not every PC gamer has the exact same taste in games.

Well, the first group should not buy console ports if they hate console games, and the other group should come to terms with the fact that there is a fairly limited selection of these games, compared to the other genres, for PC.

I don't know why your getting bent out of shape. Spider Man 2 on the PC was not a port of Spider Man 2 on the consoles. Spider Man 2 PC was a completly different game. But in general the complaints over PC ports is the same as the complaints over console ports. Developers going for the quick bucks. It's not about gameplay, It's about the quality of the port. Halo is a perfect example, the PC gamers got screwed with Halo PC. It was a horrible port with all kinds of slow downs and issues.

Oh come on, quit the sarcasm, will you? Don't you get bugged by those people who nag about situations that, when you think about it, they really put themselves in? I know you do. I'm one of those people and I'm bugging you, am I not?

I'm surprised that Nintendo wasn't able to snag such a major game like that. Their GameCube has taken hit after hit these past few years...this will only add to their disappointment before they unveil their next "big thing." Hopefully they'll get back in the game. I was a Nintendo kid growing up, and I'd love to see them restore themselves as the leading developer of video game consoles.

Given the fact that most third-party developers (like LucasArts) are currently abandoning the GameCube like rats escaping the Andrea Doria, any further Nintendo-based stuff is going to have to wait for their next-gen.

"I heard it is going to be the ultimate jedi experience ever."
What else would you expect the PR department of Lucasarts to say?
Let's wait and see what the game is like before making statements like that as fact.
I am not sure how well it would port to the PC, but if Lucasarts thinks it would make money on the PC they will port it regardless of whether or not it can be made into a good PC title.
For every GTA3 and KOTOR that does the port the right way, there two or three ports that screw up...Halo being a prime example.
Although KOTOR might not technically be a port since it was developed for both PC and X Box at the same time, and it plays much more like a PC RPG then your typical consul RPG even on the X Box.

When I first heard about the Ep. III game and how it is to be the best Jedi fighting game experince, the first game that came to mind was the Lord of the Rings RotK xbox game (XBOX RULES!!!). I can imagine the fighting style being similer and I think it could make for an awsome SW adventure. Advancing in moves per Lvl, building in power (Good/Evil), and culminating in an epic dual across a beutiful lava stage. And yes, it may be a better console game then a PC game. I like the Jedi Knight games but they have a distinct PC feel to them, a bit stiff looking to me. I would love to see a fresh new (console) Lightsabor combat engine that would bring solid blocking and combos back. Hay....we need a new Jedi/Sith Fighting game too!!!

I don't want it to be like the ROTK game. That doesn't sound like the ultimate Jedi-experience to me. I would like a Z-targeting system like in the Zelda games but with blocking and combos added.

LA publishing policy is one great riddle to me.

I'm certain that they'll never make PC version. Just like they have never made PC version of excellent Bounty Hunter that revealed entire clone army history and is very important EU source.

I wonder if the lack of Gamecube version has anything to do with the mess of a game that Jedi Outcast turned into on it? (Although I do like the split screen 2 player game, the one player game is just a waste of time.)

I'm just hoping that this will finally be the decent lightsaber game that I've been waiting, ooh, about 25 years for...

<<Well, I'm glad I bought my Xbox two weeks ago to go along with my Cube!>>

I just did the same thing - bought an Xbox for KOTOR and the upcoming Star Wars releases. As long as they are releasing quality exclusives Zelda/Mario/Metroid, which you can't play on any other console or PC, Nintendo will still be in the game. (And Star Wars-wise, you couldn't play the excellent Rebel Strike without GC.)

I think that Rebel Strike was somewhow a back step when compared to Rogue Leader.

I am very excited about this game, but I have little hope that it will be any good. I feel like the game is going to be rushed first of all. Second, the game will most likely just walk you through the movie with the only good part being "the duel".

What I am hoping for is a game where you get to take on all the baddies and jedis in lightsabe combat. Take the feel and look of the lightsaber fights in KOTOR and eliminate the turn-based combat. Add in different attacks, styles, lightsabers, defense moves, force powers, and costumes and you might have something fun. Darth Vader needs to be in there also. I also want to be able to play Anakin as a good jedi, before turning on everyone. Unless the game is like DOA, but with lightsabers, I am not sure how it is going to work or be over a few hours long.

Honestly, how cool would it be if there was a game that took all the jedi and Sith from all six movies and created a DOA/Soul Caliber 2 type game. You could even throw in a few special characters like Han Solo, the Fetts, Sand people, wookies, and droids that have their own unique weapons and defenses. Force powers could also be utilized. Put this game on Xbox live and you could play it for days on end. There could be a mode where you have to unlock new powers and costumes, well you get the point...
