    Regarding 1 of 5:
    Things I liked:
    • The cold open with the inquisitor.
    • The Jedi Council pre-TPM which appears to have Jocasta Nu instead of Ki-Adi-Mundi.
    • Setting up the mystery of the temple and the Force energies of the planet is intriguing.
    • Definitely don't trust Dylanto Daa, the guy who called the Republic to the planet

    Things I didn't like:
    • The calm wise master and the brash quick to action padawan is all too familiar and something we've seen countless times before.
    • I wish I could read what the Trandoshans were saying. There was a lot of dialogue for them and no translation.
    • Droid won't translate insults as it would offend - trope

Thank you to those who have clearly labeled their spoiler tags. I saw a solicit for #4 not in tags above and thankfully scrolled passed it before reading it. Can a mod spoiler tag it please?

For those posting spoilers for future issues, marking those as such would be appreciated.

    Issue #2 is out

Damn, this was a solid issue. I was almost sure Dylanto Daa was solely responsible for the attack, but then Cere brought the evidence to the Onthothon Parliment and I was almost sure she was being set up by the Fylari... but then it turned out the Onthothon Parliment was backing the Daa Corporation. I'm still not positive who's to blame yet. Nevertheless, this is some good stuff. Shame this thread doesn't seem to be that active though.

Also wanna praise the art again. I just came off of binging the mainline series for the first time, so this was some straight up eye candy!

A lot of people might be waiting for the trade. [face_dunno]

    re: issue 2
I think Cere was a little quick to trust the Fylari. I don't think they'll 100% trustworthy at this time. Why protect something just because your ancestors did? What is so important inside the temple? Otherwise, you're willing to go to war to protect a building? I'm sure it's more than that -- they want to protect their people and way of life but they should have delved into that more. Maybe they will in a future issue. I did like that we learned that the kids seem force attuned with animals similar to Ezra Bridger.

I'm guessing the old lady from the beginning that the Inquisitor meets and kills is the same person Cere meets and seems to be the leader of Fylari. So my assumption right now is that she survives to continue to protect the temple in the future.

As for the rest of the comic, the droid was annoyingly annoying. I guess it was too risky for Cere to bring a Fylarian with her, or maybe they were setting her up as well. I wouldn't put it past the Fylari to use the Republic/Jedi, one that they have no love for, against the Daa corporation and the local government / peacekeepers that would align with the corporation.

BTW, looking forward to the new trailer we're getting today for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

That was my one gripe. The sarcastic droid trope is so old, and not nearly as funny as the writers think it is.

Was the inquisitor in this issue or was it only the first one?

She was, and had a pretty good fighting scene. It seems like she will have a sort of parallel storyline from the main one, and will be interesting to see how the two will connect.

Looks like Second Sister has an interest in ancient Force temples even before encountering Cal.

    So, issue 3 is out...
and Master Cordova is confirmed alive (I think this was spoiled in one of the solicitations). The perspective of finally going into the temple and beginning to unravel the mystery around it is exciting, with issue 4 in mind!

I'm getting the feeling that the Inquisitor´s search will not be fruitful because of something that happened in the earlier storyline in the Temple, because its curious how few panels we get in that particular story. Could it be that Cere got hold of something in there that the Second Sister, by the time of Fallen Order, is still looking to find?

    re: issue #3

Man, I'm really loving this miniseries. However the game's story turns out, I think this story can stand on its own. The conflict is really intriguing, and the way it relates to Cere's character growth is really well done, IMO.

And again, the art is spectacular! Paolo Villanelli sure knows how to frame/execute action sequences.

Can't wait to finally get a peak inside the temple, from both present and past perspectives!

haven't read 3 yet but did read #2. This book is tres chatty, bit too much, but the wisecrackin' droid and the Inquistor opening pages make it worthwhile at least if you want a lore deep dive for Fallen Order game.

@Ithorians one of the reasons I don't read solicitations, because of the spoilers.

    Regarding issue #3:
I felt this issue had a good balance of action and it moved the plot along while setting up the final two issues. I had a feeling Cere's master wasn't really dead, and it's definitely interesting that both were able to get different perspectives from each side but still are able to work together. I just realized, after three issues, that this is subtitled "Dark Temple" and seeing the red glow and red embers in the air doesn't bode well for the people or the planet it would seem. I believe something good has to come of the story to quell the fighting for a few year right? I don't know how many years are between the past and present day events, but based on issue #2, Neralli feels significantly older, when comparing the two unless the 2nd sister called her old just because she had grey hair, but she's always had grey hair. I digress.

    Looking forward to issue #4.

yah more action heavy this issue and the master not being dead wasn't exactly a huge twist it was fun to see. Also I loved how the droid was horrified she was taking out the enemy droid photoreceptors hahahah

I'm enjoying this series a lot, much more than Galaxy's Edge or the Tie Fighter series. They weren't bad but this is much better.

Why, why, WHY can't we get art this good in the mainline series. It's honestly infuriating!

War! as the Episode III crawl would say.

But first, we finally inside the Dark Temple. There are some Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade style booby traps that don't appear to be part of the original architecture. There is also some language that neither the Jedi (flash black) nor the Sith ("present" time) understand on the Temple walls.

The Temple holds the key to winning the war against the Daa and Fylari so the Fylari might not be so innocent as them seem since the Temple isn't exactly friendly. We'll see in the exciting conclusion where we'll hopefully get all our answers, or maybe some won't be answered until the video game?

BTW, anyone buying Jedi Fallen Order and playing it tomorrow? I forgot to pre-order it when it was sale on Amazon so I might wait a little bit. Buy it myself before X-mas pending a good price and good review OR ask Santa.

started playing the game and already seeing connections with this series. I think the snarky droid may end up being BD-1 because their head shapes are the same. Way more action in this issue which I Really appreciated.

I use slickdeals.net and they already have the Black Friday ads up. I hadn't got a change to look through them yet when I asked last night.
    ***
This morning, I just flipped through Target, Walmart, and Best Buy quickly and didn't see any specifically for Jedi Fall Order, except a deal? for the Xbox system with game at Best Buy. The ads might have been made before the game was released so not seeing a sale for this game makes sense to me.

Off topic, one thing that caught my eye is a sale on specific Switch games (Mario Odyssey and BoTW) for $30 which is nice as Nintendo games rarely go so low.
At this point, nothing is blowing me away, so I'll probably see what I can snag on Amazon as I semi expect them to price match the lowest prices available.

On issue #5, for those who've played the game:
I assume the present day scenes with Second Sister take place during the game, don't they? She's already encountered Cal on Bracca, so these scenes are set between that and their (next?) meeting on Bogano?
