A/V STAR WARS REBELS (show's over, spoilers allowed)

I'm not sure I love all the new lightsaber noises we're getting, but whatever.

 

I really liked this one. Finally seeing Ahsoka actually do something was a breath of fresh air. And her lightsabers look pretty awesome.

I'm confused though. I was under the impression that when Vader realized Ahsoka was alive, she also realized Vader was Anakin. I thought she was so overwhelmed by that revelation that that's why she fainted. I guess not.

 

After this episode I am sure that the guy who is playing chopper is just milking the fact that as a Droid the GM can’t really give him Dark Side Points under the WEG rule system .

 

I think she just fainted because Vader was that powerful. Similar to scouters exploding in DBZ, or how casting "detect evil" on something a lot stronger than you in DnD can leave you stunned for a while.

 

I think she definitely suspects something.

Also, Mirialans are human in my book. They're just green humans.

 

You know what I'm really starting to realize that I never really noticed when I binge-watched seasons of TCW? I hate 20-minute run times. Every week it always feels like it's just starting to get really great, and then it ends! If I had the patience I would wait until the whole season was over and then binge the entire thing, but I can't restrain myself like that

I'd really love to see a Star Wars series with 40-minute episodes sometime in the future.

I actually tried re-watching TCW on a season by season basis once the canon wipe happened and it was pretty much everything that was left, never got past the just condensed awfulness that was "Downfall of a Droid", "Duel of the Droids" and "Bombad Jedi" in Season 1, especially after seeing the TCW movie again had already pretty much killed my motivation.

 

I think Ahsoka is probably pretty sure/terrified that Vader is Anakin.

 

Yeah I can understand that. Though overall I like the show, I thought it was very hit-and-miss. It had some really really great episodes and arcs, and then some truly terrible ones. Rebels has been much more consistent so far, which I appreciate, even if I don't quite enjoy it as much as I liked the "good" Clone Wars episodes.

 

What do you guys thinks of the possibility of

I don't really believe it but you never know. And if this is true, I don't really know what to think about it.

Well, she doesn't do much better considering Ashoka just reaches in there and flicks her lightsaber off.

 

I love how she had to pause there because he literally got in her way.

I don't think its that so much as they are actively competing against one another for a promotion, they are both trying to upstage the other, they are both trying to undercut the other and they both don't like each other. Ergo, they get in each other's way and don't have a coordinated strategy.

 

Love when they each used each other's Name/Number as a rhetorical barb.

 

So, where were we this episode? As others have noted in the past, the visuals strongly suggest we were on Pantora, only they don't have Pantoran models so they were using Ithorians. Is this the Ithorian Quarter of a Pantoran city? Little (inappropriately industrialized) Ithor? Ithor-Town? Just curious as to whether the location was confirmed.

 

It's certainly why Ashoka beats them so easily; they don't fight as a team.

As a side note, I loved the different choreography for Ahsoka's fighting style. She's much more measured and controlled than she used to be, using more conservative movements and being less aggressive. She's become more of an Obi-Wan style counter-fighter, staying on the defensive for the most part and using her enemies' recklessness and mistakes against them. Kudos to the LFA storyboarding team.
