The rise of a new Dawn, meaning a new Jedi

 

Maybe keeping «Dawn» for Mangolds film. «Rise», probably not or obvious reasons. But, i think the title will mirror something optimistic and points at a new beginning for sure.

 

No, pretty sure the thread title is already accurate; the movie name will be Shawn Levy and Ryan Gosling A Star Wars Story. Terrible name, but hey.

I'm still holding on to hope that the movie will be called "Normal Jedi Joe".

Wow. We got a title reveal just as i predicted:

Title is Star Wars: Starfighter.

Premiere: May 28th 2027.

Directed by Shawn Levy
Starring Ryan Gosling.

Somehow we lost Rogue Squadron and gained Starfighter

 

It’s clearly just a reworked Rogue Squadron. It’s in the same era as that film was going to be.

 

Rogue Squadron was my favorite game ever and I never really liked Starfighter so this is god punishing me

Somehow, I have confidence this movie might turn out okay.

 

We are definitely getting a new new republic

because I cannot physically imagine them not using x-wings

 

That's what it sounds like. My only question what was so wrong with Patty Jenkins movie?

 

So Poe is definitely in this, right?

Starfighter.

The good things: Ryan Gosling. He's an amazing actor. And a major name, that will draw casuals. A standalone movie. We need more of those. Rogue One and Solo are great movies, and part of their greatness are that they are removed from the baggage that comes with the main saga, even if they are connected to it. Shawn Levy. He's good. I trust him.

The bad things: the timeline. Anything set in the sequels era will automatically make me lose at least 20% interest. If this wasn't standalone, I certainly wouldn't even be going to the theaters, but now I will. Having said that, this means we're not getting the Filoni movie in May 2027 and that's a bummer. Hopefully December 2027 then. No force. Again. Meh.

 

Hopefully this will for-real make it to the big screen.

 

I’m gonna assume he is not a Jedi character.

They want that Top Gun money.

 

Levy says they are in pre-production now and will begin filming soon. Sounds 100% certain.

It's fun having a big name actor in this.
