Pretty sure Phasma doesn't have remotely the same level of prominence as either of those characters. Or access to "unnatural" abilities that give her magic survival powers.

As long as it is well integrated, I reckon the dyad and it's basis for the Rule of Two will fit really well with the new Force lore we have had.

The World Between Worlds, the bleeding of crystals, and so Wayfinders are fairly fun.

Legends was on the verge of becoming stale with the Force until it added Mortis and Beyond Shadows.

i wonder if Lando will find out about Han's death cause i think he's the only one out of the Core Seven (Han, Luke, Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, Chewie, Lando) that we havent seen react to his death especially since Han and Lando have known each other for over 40 years.

I think Han should tell him. Lando goes to arrange his old cloak closet on the MF while hoping for some quiet time getting back to writing his fanfic with L3 and Han comes out like "BOO Lando I'm a ghost now!"

Han wasn't a ghost. He was a memory of Ben's who came again. It's Ben's consciousness taking the form of his dad :)

I suppose there's a kind of parallel with Hamlet interacting with the ghost of his dead father. Unlike Hamlet, though, Ben is the only one who "sees" Han, so it can be interpreted as either something that's his very vivid imagination about what he'd like to say to his father, or maybe it's a projection that Leia is able to send her son's way. It could work either way.

I think it was Leia using the Force to connect not only herself with Ben, but also using the Force to directly connect Ben with his memory of his father.

Then how can anyone be confirmed dead if you think they can always come back?

I'd go farther and say that it was Han's very presence in the Force, not as a subsistent ghost, but something more real rather than less than a ghost, even the Force itself, into which Han has passed, speaking through those remembered forms. In that sense, through the mediation of his mother, it is at once Han and the Light forgiving and embracing Ben.

I hope it cements the idea of Leia using Han’s medal to project the memory. That was my interpretation of the scene.

I wonder what extra little scenes and tidbits we get.

They might've delayed it due to the clash over Nien Nunb's fate.

    To quote the great Dragonheart

    “Are they revolting?”

“They’ve always been revolting my prince, but this time they’re rebellin’.”

I’ve never read a novelisation of any of the movies before, but I’ll be buying this one. The movie just feels too compacted with huge reveals having been shoehorned in. We need a good novelisation to fill in the blanks. I don’t mind Del Rey taking a bit of extra time to ensure they get it right before publishing.

I’ve heard very good things about that book. Stover is one of my favourite Star Wars authors (Shatterpoint was incredible). I’ll add it to the reading list.

Same here. It was so packed with stuff that needs more explanation I felt it was necessary. I did read Most Wanted, that's my only familiarity with her and I thought that was okay, a solid 3 stars. Hopefully she does well here.
