    Broken finger stories!

I broke my finger today. Horse spooked, I tried to stop her and she didn't care so the lead rope twisted my left ring finger and I have a spiral fracture. Massive splint and I now need to locate a hand doctor to take a better look at it.

I broke my left pointer finger and my right middle finger playing basketball. Jammed fingers suck. For one of them, even just walking hurt like heck before I got it splinted, because the slightest movement made the bones grate together.

Spiral fracture, that sounds like fun too. :p

not my finger but one time my sister and i were driving a golf cart around our grandparents place when we were kids (aged like 7 and 9). we took a hard turn and she thought it would be funny to hit the gas hard while doing so, and i, not knowing this was going to happen, flew out of the cart and landed on my arm about 20 feet away.

because of this now broken arm i couldn't ride drew mcmullin's dirt bike at his birthday party a few weeks later.

i still haven't forgiven her. i hate my sister.

Master Jacen, have you ever considered that but for your sister's intervention, you may have suffered an even more grievous--or even fatal--injury on Drew McMullin's bike? You ought to be weeping at her feet, begging for forgiveness.

He pretty much regards his brother as second only to Barack Obama.

Doesn't mean there isn't room for sibling shenanigans...........I stabbed my brother in the palm of one of his hands with a pencil while in elementary school. He retaliated a few years later by hitting me across the head while I was using the computer, and drinking a hot cup of coffee. :p

Broken an arm falling off a flying fox. My mother didn't believe it was a serious injury and sent me to bed with a Children's Panadol.

I mean, it is Australia. Were you bitten by a poisonous animal? Then panadol covers it.

That also covers poisonous animals that aren't in the top 10 deadliest.

One night I got pissed off at a co-worker so instead of putting him through a wall again, I kicked something and broke my big toe bad enough that a bone fragment came through the skin. It was a couple years before it would bend normally again.

Yeah...I hope my finger doesn't bend like this forever.

My brother broke his finger playing football on the school basketball courts. The school nurse sent him back to class. Only to have his teacher send him to the hospital. :p

Also, in the interest of accuracy, getting bitten by a poisonous animal probably won't kill you on account of the fact that poisonous animals need to be ingested in order to kill you. Venomous animals on the other hand, well, you don't want to get bitten by them.

I kicked a bleacher in high school and busted a toe. Last May, a station wagon drove over my foot in a convenience store parkinglot. Just a stress fracture, but I was on crutches for a couple months and used a cane for another month. Damp weather and really long walks still aggravate it. Otherwise... haven't broken a bone, yet.

Well, of course siblings play with one another, but we needn't be completely absurd. When we wrestled, my brother would never throw me except he could catch hold again, before I hit the ground and came to any harm.

I broke my right-hand pinky when I was around 5 or 6, playing handball.

Other than that, no fracture, which is pretty amazing since I was skiing competitively for 7 years and there wasn't a season where at least one kid from our ski club didn't have a broken limb (usually a leg)... :p
