ST TFA Toys, Collectibles, Action Figures, etc. (incl. Force Friday discussion)

Sorry, but this looks hilarious:

 

There are starting to be a few more sightings statewide of TFA 3.75" Black Series figures. I am so impatient for these to hit in my area.

 

No luck on the Battlefront shocktrooper or Emperors Wrath Vader yet. Has anyone heard if the Vader has been found in stores yet or just the drugstore online listing this week?

I haven't seen it myself in stores yet, but I heard reports of it being found down in Florida somewhere.

 

One thing I wonder is if SW7 (and the subsequent sequels) are a huge commercial and critical success, how it will impact the production of merchandise long term. My prediction is this: Disney will dramatically decrease *or even stop* the production of PT toys, the production of Ot toys will keep the same but I sense that a majority of the new merchandise going forward will be ST related. Also I think in mid 2016 is when we'll start seeing comics/novels and video games being made that star the ST characters. I can even see maybe an animated show but I don't think it'll star the new ST characters but instead take place in the same time period with an occasional cameo by a ST character.
So what are your guys predictions?

 

I can see that. I think the safest bet for PT figures from now on will be The Black Series, but I can see the 3 3/4" line not having any PT figures in it anymore. Even so, I bet we get no more that 2 or 3 PT figures per year with TBS. Even with what we know is coming, there's only one PT character represented - Jango Fett.

 

I think OT merch will go down tremendously as well, particularly if TFA is a runaway success. Hasbro has already said that the 3 3/4" Black Series line won't have any newly sculpted OT figures past leia for the forseeable future. (There will be a few repacks of OT characters, but no new figures).
Unfortunately, though, (in my opinion) I think PT characters will be more or less absent for a few years.

 

My Force Awakens collection so far. My wallet is going to cry when I start buying 3.75 inch figures later.

 

I think we'll get some more for TBS 6" line:

Jango Fett - already coming
Qui-Gon Jinn - saw the computer renders months ago
Obi-Wan Episode I - same as above
Count Dooku - people want him, will eventually get made
General Grevious - I think Hasbro knows there's a huge demand for him, and the failure of the Elite Series one will make people demand a better one.
Episode III Clone Troopers - now that they've produced one, it's only a matter of time til they hit the main line, and in many different colors and variations
Padme - too important to the Saga to be ignored. I predict Episode II white outift
Jar Jar Binks - like it or not, I feel we'll see him at some point

... beyond that, I wouldn't be surprised if we get nothing else. I'd put these as the "main" PT characters yet to be made, with a second tier class of Mace Windu, Episode I Anakin, Episode II Obi-Wan and Anakin, Battle Droids, etc. below it. As possibilities that could be made down the line, but are not the priorities as far as the PT go, especially if it gets less importance than the the OT and ST,

 

Try not to double post, but just want to say:

For anyone interested in them, or who collects them like me, the 18" TFA figures are on sale at K-Mart for $15.99. Not sure when the sale started, but they generally run from Sunday to Saturday, so tomorrow might be the last day to take advantage of the sale if you're interested.

 

What's up with the influx of ads now?

Anyways, not having a black series Mace Windu would make me so sad. A battle droid would be pretty awesome as well as everything else you said. Keep it with the new packaging though so it continues to feel new.
