Side note: This episode kinda confirms a pet theory of mine; namely that with Jedi training, learning “Force stunts” is not as important as learning “how to be a Jedi.” Essentially, the Jedi are not able to sense the return of the Sith, or possible splinter sect of Jedi (the “Force stunt”) because they’d already decided what is and is not possible, and thus their minds were not open to guidance from the Force.(“how to be a Jedi”)

    I hope this makes sense.

That’s not at all how it looked on my 4K TV. I think it’s just a bad, washed out, poor resolution image here. In 4K on my set this same image looks way better.

Anyway, the biggest clue that Quimir was more than he appeared came in episode 2 when Mae startled him and he instinctively and immediately got the better of her and then pretended to be inept again. That was the first huge clue he was a force user.

I didn't realize that it was actually Ki Adi Mundi in the show, I truly thought it was another Cerean Jedi since Ki Adi Mundi won't even be born for another 40 years at the point that this show takes place. Then I saw the end credits of the episode. o_O
I just wish the showrunners would work with established canon. Instead they just seem like they want to throw it out the window. I didn't feel like the creation of Osha and Mae messed with Anakin's creation because I don't think they weren't created the same way as he was. But this seems like blatant disregard for what came before.

This is exactly what I've been thinking, Ki Adi's lore didn't make it through the prequels intact, nor TCW. If there was anyone that would do well to get a clean slate with Disney canon it's him.

I still think Yord is another Sith acolyte

Most of the Jedi get wiped out minus Sol/Jecki next week and then Yord pins it on Osha/Mae.

Maybe Qimir captures Sol/Jecki and brings them to his master. But regardless of specifics this fight next week has to function in a way where there are no witnesses, yet at the same time they won’t kill off the top billed actors just yet…

Would be a good reveal if Darth Teeth is about to land a killing blow on Yord after everyone else is already dead and instead they both laugh together

I think everything in this series so far is about covering the sith’s tracks; the four Jedi have to die because they are witnesses to something out of the ordinary sixteen years ago

Perhaps Mae's turn is tied to the scene at the bunta tree on Brendok.
When the flying creature on Khofar was slain by Sol, Osha was able to unlock Mae's empathy via the Force, and Mae is able to understand why Osha was so upset about Mae harming the jellyfly at the bunta tree. Was the flying creature the parent of the isopods that were developing on the trees? Maybe Osha felt guilty for disturbing the isopod, which lead to the death of its parent.
Once Mae's empathy was unlocked, she had a change of heart about killing Kelnacca.

Ki Adi Mundi still looks old 100 years earlier like Yoda in High Republic. So i take it by now he is probably 300-400 years old.

If they can change legends / EU lore around him that easily, as they did Thrawn as well already, then maybe we are all being a bit presumptuous that Darth Plagueis will even still be Muun at all. Maybe @A Chorus of Disapproval was right and this Dark Sider we see is the new Darth Plagueis? Maybe he’s human now.

Re K-AdiBut why choose a character, out of so many, that you are going to have to retcon, and why involve, in this mystery, the character who in TPM says that the Sith have been extinct for a millenium? To me, it's almost, if not literally, a trolling move. Especially if they end up making him complicit in some kind of cover-up, which would then make him a near-traitor in TPM.

I'm not sold on it but I find the lack of a Darth name in promotional materials to be mysterious and Qimir is certainly someone I could see Palpatine learning a thing or 2 about disarmingly hiding in the midst of Jedi from.

Remembers the old comics where Ki-Adi-Mundi was a polygamist... yeah this version is better.

Perhaps the character is just obtuse.

In the Acolyte, he is presented with evidence and never once considers the possibility of the Sith returning.

100 years later in The Phantom Menace, he is presented with evidence and never once considers the possibility of the Sith returning.

I don't see how they plan to spin Ki Adi Mundi being complicit in a cover-up about there being Sith 100 years before TPM. That's kind of a big secret to keep that potentially puts others in danger.

The Jedi clearly state why they wanted to keep this a secret from the high council. Reporting to them would allow the Republic to know, and it could cause panic. It would also allow their enemies in the Republic, or where ever, to have a potential advantage. So the Jedi decide to keep it all in house, since the murders are of their own.

Formerly they believed the murderer was a former padawan. They learn its her sister, who the Jedi know about, and were involved in some event 16 years so they might be responsible in some way for all of this going down.

Outside of that, the Jedi do no know if this is in fact a Sith. Its just a dark sider. They've dealt with dark siders before.

Peace is a lie. They are lying to keep the peace.

His age was retconned the minute the old EU became non-canon because that's where the 93 BBY birth date came from. So really all they did was establish his age for the new canon.

Suppose it helps keep characters around for as long as possible if they say they all age incredibly slow

The way that Sol asks Smiley in the trailer "What are you?" I don't think they've dealt with anything like them before. I feel like this is an attempt to make what Ki Adi Mundi said in TPM about the Sith make sense. I just wish they would stop trying to change what came before and build upon the foundation that was already laid by Lucas. I know others don't agree with me, and that's fine.

Ki is really just 21 in this show. He's got that Steve Martin white hair forever thing going.

And since we're dealing with aliens. I would expect some of them to outlive humans.
