The Jedi Temple can't expect everyone to act that way all the time though. I mean, Ahsoka's a teenager and teenagers still act out and get snarky. She was still polite. Not all the time but still it wasn't like Ahsoka didn't know how to be. Maybe Ahsoka just doesn't like authority.

Sure, shrugs, that can be it. But for better or worse, that was one of the things that I didn't like about her initially. As I've said numerous times, I'd have liked her from minute one were she a character in another show, it just struck me as out of place with a fresh out of the Temple padawan in Star Wars.

Shoot... TheSilentInfluence i thought the Ahsoka muffin hilarity was bringing the pro and anti Snips factions together in the spirit of genuine frivolity! [face_party]

Tie it all together - why does Ahsoka not have a muffin top? Drum roll: she's not an American human.

Er, anyway, and bad jokes aside - pro or con, what kind of light do YOU think Ahsoka shines on the war, her fellow adult Jedi, etc.? Is it her naivety or optimism that makes her appear as "the true" Jedi to those who see her that way?

C'mon folks, I'm trying to get a discussion going.

I was fine with her back-talk, thought it was funny a few times, but I didn't like it when she was able to disobey and not only escape punishment, but have a Jedi Master lie for her.

Then again, when she wore a skirt and tube top she was a young teen, and when a young teen is fit, they typically don't muffin top because their skin doesn't sag as much. I guarantee if you put Ahsoka from Rebels in an upsize of her old teens outfit, she'll fill it out a lot more.

Though, since she's not human in the first place, would could always use the "she's an alien" cop out. She has mammaries, but that doesn't mean she's a mammal, let alone has the same physiology as humans. We don't know if she even anatomically matches the distinguishing characteristics of mammalia

This thread is getting interesting, mixing physiology with muffin tops and clothing choices.

How about discussing Ahsoka's design: I think her round faced, huge-eyed, female humanoid body were all designed to appeal to fans of all ages. Mammals tend to have large eyes and appendages in part to appeal to the protective instincts of adults, so it's little wonder Ahsoka ticks those traits off. Her mouthing off and tube top clothing was meant to appeal to today's teens taste in clothes (or what we are lead to believe, I'm not around kids much of any age).

She was designed to get a favorable reaction and largely did.

I'm pretty sure the reason she is like that, is because Davey doesn't like the concept of the Jedi and their beliefs, and decided Ahsoka needed to be like that so she could be "cool" and a "rolemodel."

Agreed. Altricial animals are, by their very nature, designed to perceive animals with soft features and large eyes as "cute" and see them as approachable and amiable. It's why we find bunnies cuter than, say, a great white shark. When designing cartoon characters, the designers typically go for the soft and sweet look that will make their character come across as friendly to the target, and leave sharper features for adults or villains. Face it, which one as the softest design and which one would you pin as the most "cute":

One sees naivete and optimism. Another sees foolishness and pride.

"You let Dooku get a way? Pfft, losers."

"While you guys are arguing, I'm gonna roll my eyes and pretend I know better."

"Remind me why I am playing the slave role? #independentwoman right here!"

Anakin is definitely just as bad, but I guess that's why we love him.[face_dunno]

If she was patient and wise, there would still be complaining oh wait. And honestly, it's not like no other characters act like this(looks at Han especially)

But Han is not in the TV show nor is he a Jedi. That's a big difference as to how I perceive either. And if I had to choose between Han and Luke, it'd be Luke. But I love the dynamic of those two together.

Anakin at that point is still a Jedi, so that point stands. Han isn't, of course, but the same character traits are there. Luke starts off that way according to Yoda as well.

If a Jedi being foolish and prideful are the issue, well some Jedi must be better at Jedi-ing than others.

    "Hey look over there!"

I think there's a thread in the OT forum where people can ***** about Han. A couple of them in fact.

Actually I was comparing Ahsoka to Han, not Anakin to Han. (see last line of the post that prompted my post)

I love Han, a comparison to Ahsoka isn't *****ing though.(maybe it is?)

Ahsoka in many ways, and definitely in a prideful way, is mini!Anakin, so many of the same points can be made.

There's some truth in that. I think its also true that, in ways, they're very different. In The Wrong Jedi (ugh), they both wanted to leave the Order, but only one did. Their respective reasons reflected what they valued. When Anakin renounced the Jedi, he did it for Padme. Why did Ahsoka leave? Bcs she was confused.

Ahsoka was a mini-Anakin but without the consequences that Anakin got for being himself.

    Agreed.

Ani had an unusual upbringing into the Jedi Order.

Fulcrum DID NOT. And shouldn't be acting like him.

My thinking was that Filoni used her to demonstrate, "See, Anakin? This is how you SHOULD HAVE lived. This is how ALL YOU JEDI PEONS should have lived."
