So Roper, how did Ballack look Wednesday?

And nice job by your men again last night, Everton. Meanwhile the Bundesliga, so abysmal in CL, has done rather well in UC: Bayern, Leverkusen and Hamburg each won their group and Nürnberg finished runner-up to Everton. Throw Bremen into the mix and it should have a decidedly German flavor. Maybe a repeat of 1979-80, whn all 4 teams came from the Bundesliga (Stuttgart, Bayern, Mönchengladbach and Frankfurt).

    Finally, what's CrouchLol smoking:

No faking required after that flying karate kick.

Gravesen isn't the same player as he was when he left for Madrid. He still has that fight in him, but doesn't have the classy passing (and he was a great passer) to offset it. Moyes has him as back-up, really - there because Fernandes bailed on us. Last night was his first start this season. In domestic competition, he struggles to make the bench.

EDIT: Oh, speaking of Fernandes... lol @ Fernandes. What a poor decision he made. He's barely featured for Valencia. :D

Valencia is a train wreck. Looks like Koeman has given up hope on his current squad and is going to do a complete rebuild. Sure their board is thrilled, given they just spent a boatload on new acquisitions before the start of the season.

This story makes Crouch seem worse than Mikel. None of what Crouch is saying justifies his tackle. Everyone knows that, and so it makes him appear foolish.

    CL draw...

    Celtic have Barca

    Man Utd get Lyon [face_plain]

    Arse get AC Milan

    Pool get Inter

tough games all round for the British sides.

Chelsea get Olympiakos. not easy to travel there but they've got the easiest draw of the lot.

The key to success for Arsenal is to convince Milan its a Serie A match. Maybe wear Levorno kits.

Get your long underwear out, Everton, you're headed to Brann, Norway.

Leverkusen got the 3rd place team I'd least like to face, Galatsaray. Never fun going to Istanbul.

Surely it can't be much colder than it was in Alkmaar last night.

EDIT: And then either Rosenberg of Fiorentina. Fiorentina quite hard, but nothing to fear.
