An entry of my own

Dear Jenny,

Hey, Babe. How have you been? Listen, I'm sorry I haven't written in awhile. Things just got kind of crazy, you know? I mean, I took that charter, you know the one, fly some old guy and his kid to Alderaan. I swear I thought it would be just a quick trip. Drop them off, get paid, and be back in bed with you, free and clear from Jabba in a week. Well, it took a bit longer. Who knew we'd have rescue a Princess? And you can't blame me for that. She's rich, and you know how much I like rich damsels in distress. So, long story short, rescued her, and got paid. Then, I got a little sidetracked. Had to help blow up the Death Star, and next thing you know, I'm a part of this thing. I just can't leave, and with all the travel, its been hard to get word to you, let you know what's going on. I meant to write, I really did. But then there was that Bounty Hunter at Ord Mandrell, and you know how it goes.

But, I finally got some time. Right now, I'm sitting in the Falcon, making a long trip at sub-light speeds to see Lando at Bespin. The hyperdrive's being a pain in my ass, and I hope he can fix it. I know, its Lando, but here's hoping he's let bygones be bygones. Besides, Chewie's really starting to stink. I mean, he's my life partner, but stick him in a cramped freighter for three months, and he's not near as fun to be around.

But, the real reason I'm writing here, is that I think we should break up. Its not you, you're great, I had a lot of fun with you. But, there's this Princess. The one I rescued. She can be a bit of a nag at times, wants to discuss everything as a committee, but other then that, she's not bad. Plus, she's rich. Look, I'm sorry to do this way, but things are hectic, I don't have time to stop by and see you. Maybe after I get done with Lando, I'll have some free time, and we can talk. Face to face. Just don't get all mushy on me.

So, I should finish up here. I hope we can still be friends.

Have you ever wondered to yourself, what type of adventures did 3PO have when he was working that job? If so, this is for you!

The Classic Trilogy Scene Rewrite Contest: Game 3 - Threepio's First Job!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is the write a scene chronicling any type of adventure, mishap, experience, fun, etc. C-3PO had while working with binary load lifters. Including R2-D2 is encouraged for good fun, but not required. You are free to write this scene however you want in any manner you see fit, so long as you follow established guidelines found in the original post of this thread. The scene is due in on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 11:59pm BOARD TIME/pacific standard time. A poll to vote on the winner will be posted shortly thereafter.

This was a bit last minute so forgive me if it sucks.



My Entry

See Threepio was an off gold fellow,
His friend Artoo was rather mellow.
Life as a rebel droid was getting slow,
So the droids declared it time to go.

They searched for jobs far and wide,
With so many offers they couldn?t decide.
When the Binary Load Lifters became the plan,
Threepio and Artoo begged the man.

The man said ?Yes, why thank you so much,
I?ve tried to find help but couldn?t find such.?
?The job is yours and pays rather well,
This is your new supervisor who?s name is Mel.?

Threepio and Artoo set right to the job,
They had some fun with a Lifter named Rob.
The droids soon found that they lifters had names,
Like Carl and Kevin and there best friend James.

The Job was easier than they thought,
That is until the Binary?s fought.
They used weapons unknown to man,
Only droids and perhaps a Gran.

The fight seemed endless for days and nights,
Such hard, long most dangerous fights.
When all was over and the Lifters were done,
They explained to the friends they were just having fun.

Threepio mumbled a slight ?Oh dear?,
While Artoo wanted to shed a tear.
Threepio and Artoo left in such a hurry,
Threepio had such a funny scurry.

Back to the rebels once again,
To fight the empire and all their men.
Threepio was the happiest of all,
As happy as Chewbacca was tall.
