I hope the episode focuses on Grievous killing as many Gungans as possible.

I would guess during the early series development. Initially they were writing Alpha into the story, then they replaced him with Rex.

In TCW's version of the Battle of Jabiim, Rex would be the obvious replacement for Alpha-17.

No I know that, but I am thinking CT means something else.

[face_talk_hand] that whole thing was well played. I prefer a character being vulnerable instead of the invincible killing machine from the microseries.

EDIT: dumb (EDIT - NO SWEARING) Padme... [face_plain]

The end of that episode made no sense whatsoever. I am now convinced she is the absolute dumbest character ever in Star Wars.

Episode was worth it for the last 8 minutes.

I'm glad were moving away from Padme for the foreseeable future though. I don't say Jar Jar because they actually handled him fine, as long as Ahmad Best is voicing him.

I'll post my full thoughts later.

Did he actually get to kill any? He certainly didn't do well.

Other than that I thought it was decent. Rushed, but decent.

Better than the other three eps.

Miffed about the Grievous bit, but I can't believe they actually got me to laugh at Jar Jar for once.[face_laugh]

The Gungans make for a bizarre half-hour of television. Do they actually remember that the Trade Federation tried to take over their planet in TPM and the Seperatists tried to set off a biological weapon in Season 1?

Sadly, Grievous killed off the one badass Gungan there was. The Gungan beatdown does nothing to help his character. They really need to establish him as a badass at some point.

And yet, the last third of the episode was great. The Anakin/Dooku confrontation was awesome and it's interesting that Padme initially balked at trading Grievous for Anakin. Something Anakin never would have done.

What exactly does Sidious need Grievous for if all he ever does is lose?

I've actually found him funny at times on the show. When Best has voiced the character on Robot Chicken, he's actually pretty damn funny.

Speaking of Tarpals, was he voiced by the actor who voiced him in TPM?

@IG_2000, because Anakin wouldn't have done the same thing in her place, amirite?

That was actually the only thing that I liked about this episode--it showed how Anakin and Padme's relationship isn't good; it's dangerous and bad for both of them. Other than that, there was pretty much nothing in this that wasn't either lolworthy or facepalm-inducing.

Some other things that struck me:

-The violence really has been ramped up. That was what, three stabbings (four, if you count Grievous) and a torture scene? Interesting that all of that gets shown, while the whole Asajj kiss was cut last year.

    -Is rain usually that sparkly?

-Correct me if I'm wrong; I might have only been half tuned in at that part, but there wasn't any verbal reference to the AOTC battle while Anakin and Dooku fought, was there? I would have thought that either Anakin or Dooku would have thought to mention their previous encounter.

Padme was honestly considering keeping Grievous and sacrificing her husband? The friggin' Gungans had to change her mind? In the words of Rick James, "Cold-blooded." [face_shame_on_you] If the roles were reversed, Anakin would've gone Charles Bronson on those Seppies.

    Another Anakin/Dooku battle. Blah.

The Gungans taking Grievous captive was pretty awesome. They kicked his butt pretty damn good. I liked the cocky chuckle Grievous gave during the swap. Man, oh man, do I enjoy watching Grievous. I also liked how they showed his intelligence and seeing through Jar-Jar's disguise. They need more scenes like that to show that Grievous is a force to be reckoned with and not just a two-bit villain.

I'm not much for bashing Padme, but her voice-acting this episode was a bit...flat. "What...have you done...with Anakin?" [face_laugh] I'm sure she was doing it for dramatic effect, but I couldn't help but laugh. It sounded like she was reading from a teleprompter.

Enjoyable episode nonetheless. 8/10 for me.

It doesn't matter how much Grievous loses... because no matter who loses, Sidious wins. He just needs Grievous to keep the keep the war going/ be the public face of the droid army.

But why take him seriously then?

"Oh it's that guy who always loses again, we don't really have to worry about him."

No, it does matter. This show continuously shows the war to be one-sided with numerous Republic wins and rarely any CIS victories. If TCW Grievous cannot be a decent threat to his adversaries then there's something completely wrong with this character that Lucas "rewritten" for ROTS. TCW Grievous either needs to be his old self, a better version of his ROTS/TCW self, or for gods sake just needs to go find a closet, lock himself in it, until ROTS.

Maybe Grievous is winning alot of battles, but we just aren't seeing them?
