    ^ Someone's read too much EU [face_laugh]

IMO, This was a really good episode. Action-packed, excellently paced, dramatic. What a thrill ride.

The only thing I was confused about is the slaves not falling to their deaths when the floors slid open. Yeah, it was going slowly, but as far as I could tell, nobody stopped it, and before I knew it Ahsoka was standing in that cell. Did anyone get this?

Also, in that preview at the end: More Anakin vs. Dooku [face_laugh]

To be honest, I have said in the past and recently how I don't like how this series handles the Jedi.

As a person who didn't read the comics.. I liked the arc BUT I think it ended poorly.. Ahsoka getting all the credit? WTF? I'm sick of her again already..

I love Warthog, Plo and his "bros" ;P Though.. maybe we can get some time off from them. Rex's line "I'm no jedi." Was pretty awesome too. :3

    Savior Ahsoka again <sigh>.

While I wish for rather more Obi-Wan-saves-the-day heroics (come to think of, has he had ANY such stories where he deserves the heroic congrats at the end?), I think he came off rather well in this episode - at least he wasn't beaten down (just pretended to be) and first chance he got, he was right in the action. So no points taken away.

Ahsoka hasn't been annoying me lately - am I mellowing in my old age? No, I didn't like her being credited with "saving the day" when I think it was a team effort with the cruiser & clones, not just our "big 3 + Rex," but up to that point, she was fine, IMHO.

After a couple hours away, I'm going to rewatch and see if my initial opinion holds up, but so far - thumbs up.

Cool episode. I don't know how I'll rate it but I enjoyed it. I never read the comic. I don't know what I missed out on. On TV this felt fresh and well thought out. A nice ending to the arc and keeping TCW rolling on a winning streak. The new CN commercial looks cool. I liked the way the episode handled showing Obi-wan as a slave and how it didn't shy away from brutality. Like the rest of this arc spite of the violence it didn't feel grimdark. The queen's death was actually quite poignant and dripped with foreshadowing. But the real highlight was ofcourse the big battle at the end. From Plo's attack on the facility. Anakin and Ahsoka working to clear a path and rescue the slaves. It really felt like they might lose for a moment. The imagery of the Star Destroyer nudging its way beneath the slaver's ariel compound thingy was awesome. Then ofcourse the pure fun of Obi-wan and Rex simply whooping ass. Loved that. Favorite part of the episode was when Rex announced incoming and simply killed both of the reinforcements in two seconds flat. He did more in this episode than I thought and he needs get more hand to hand moments like this, lol. - "I'm no Jedi."

My biggest complains are the fight with Dooku was a waste of time and the use of stock sound affects. The sound of a jaguar's growl was used for the Zygarrians which it annoyed me to hear them growling in the first place. There were also stock grunts, screams, and even a cartoon 'bowing' sound effect. Then the episode's ending focusing on just Ahsoka and the Governor giving the lesson of the day was terrible.

Speaking of Ahsoka's ridiculous praising and talk at the end, I am really getting sick of all these episodes that have the standard cookie cutter plot of "Random planet #1 wants to join the CIS and Dooku but its people are clueless, Republic intervenes to stop the EVIL, and random planet #1 ends up joining the Republic anyway."

Honestly, if the next random planet TCW shows has this, someone from the Republic needs to mass send letters throughout the galaxy describing all these events and just say "Join the Republic and call it a day."

You can never read too much EU :)

I only caught the last half of this episode today and what I saw didn't leave me with much of an impression. Rex headbutted a guy with his forehead, who was wearing what I thought was an helmet, and knocked the dude out..........

Also risking a Star Destroyer to rescue what appeared to be 12 or so hostages/slaves seemed like overkill to me. Maybe there were thousands and I just didn't see them.

I did like the Star Destroyer Captain though. Anyone catch his name?

Well this episode was well worth the wait, imo. I loved the comic, I loved all three episodes, and I especially liked the dialogue changes between Anakin and the Queen. And I loved seeing Plo Koon and the Wolf Pack on the rescue mission.

There were two episodes here - a mediocre first half and an awesome second half. The raid on the slave facility was fantastic all around. But the bits with the queen in the beginning and Dooku were just, well, 'eh'. Anakin and Ashoka's escape was boringly easy, the queens plan was ill though out, her death was meaningless, and Dooku was unneeded.

But the attack on the slaver facility was 100% Star Wars glee. I loved the Slavers starfighters, and the 795s, and the rescue attempt was tense and very well paced. More than made up for the mediocre first half.

I don?t really see why everyone were so satisfied with themselves at the end of the episode, 50 000 people were abducted from Kiros, and they saved maybe 20-30 of them. Clearly this was only one of many Zygerian slave facilities, so the other 49 970 must be elsewhere, but couldn?t they have at least talked about this fact in the episode? This should not have been the end of this arc.

That being said, I thought this episode was great. The attack on the mining base was really good, and overall the episode maintained the same high quality level as the previous episode, though I thought the last one was better.

Why did Ahsoka refer to those aliens as her people? She is not even from there colony. She may be the same species...but i don't see non-Americans, as my people, even though there human.

I don't see how they warrent being called her people.

Perhaps she should have said "my kind".

    - As others have said, giving Ahsoka all the credit at the end was dumb. If it weren't for Anakin, she'd still be in her cage, and they would have no idea where Obi Wan was. It was also Anakin's idea to bring in the reinforcements to take out the facility. All Ahsoka did was bust the colonists out.

    - I also noticed how the ending to this episode was very reminiscent of the end of Wookiee Hunt.

    - The Keeper looks like a massive koala bear. I find it difficult to take him seriously.

    - There was a lot of Rex, Ahsoka and Dooku fanservice going on. The lightning scene in particular, my God, how long do we have to look at Dooku's twisted face before we get it that he's an evil Sith Lord. You know, just in case you forgot that in addition to always calling up the bad guy of the week and repeatedly demanding they accomplish some evil deed, he's actually a pretty nasty man himself. Which is weird because in the films at least, Dooku didn't really come across as 'evil' at all. He had class. Now he's just down there with the rest of the supervillain archetypes.

    - Oh and did you guys know, Zygerrians are evil?

Granted it was entertaining from end to end, but as I've made clear before, I'm not giving any credit for it. If it wasn't gripping, then it wouldn't have been broadcast.

As for the episode, I liked it. But from the seek peak at the end, the best is yet to come.

    Great little episode.

It's interesting how much about Admiral Coburn was revealed solely from his actions in this episode. In Citadel Rescue, he had just one line on the bridge of the Star Destroyer. He was just a drone who followed Plo's orders. In this episode, he shows a different side. Instead of commanding things from the Star Destroyer in orbit, he takes direct command of the light Cruiser going down into the atmosphere. He thinks on his feet and has a good grasp of tactics, giving Wolffe and his men orders that help save the day. The jetpacks aren't strictly necessary for them to put rappel lines in place, but they're useful in case a few of the Togrutas can't reach the cables, which is rather likely considering that the floor is retracting beneath their feet.

I like this Coburn bloke. He's thorough. The German accent doesn't hurt either. :p

Ahsoka isn't un-heroic, but both Anakin and Coburn definitely deserve as much credit. However, I can let Anakin's comment to the governor slide as just positive reinforcement for his Padawan.

Rex is a badass. There was something symbolic about Rex's final kill in the episode. The Keeper's attention is fixed on the old school enforcer of the Galactic government and he taunts him for being too honourable to kill him. He ignores the presence of the new fist of the Galactic government in the room. As he dies, his eyes are on the clone.

"I'm no Jedi," calls forward to Imperial brutality...

This was a real mixed bag, leaning towards an overall pretty good episode. First half was kinda boring, second half was pretty cool, but all around it was sprinkled with weak writing.

    - Their attempts to make Obi-Wan into a saint are very flawed. He throws a guard off of a rooftop, a murderous action, but he hits a canopy and seems to survive the ordeal, therefore Obi is still a good guy. Obi-Wan refuses to kill the overseer, but instead basically tells Rex to do it. Does that really make him have any less blood on his hand? You can't really play it like that. Either he's a pacifist who won't get involved in killing, or he's a warrior who is willing to do what must be done. These weak excuses just don't work.
    - Loved to see a proper bit of dogfighting with the Headhunters! But boy, those pilots sure love to roll their craft for no reason! Even Plo does it.
    - Those trapdoors in the slaves holding pen must be the slowest doors ever devised by a sentient being. After 5 minutes opening they are still only about halfway open. That's really a ridiculous device to try and create tension. From the moment the overseer activates them, they have time to communicate with each other, Anakin runs all the way to the turrets, commandeers one, destroys all the others, calls in the navy, the Venator flies its way to the station, docks underneath it, dispatches troops to the top, they launch cables and organize the evacuation of some thousands of slaves, and still the doors are nowhere near opened all the way....
    - Really hated the Ahsoka bit at the end. "Her creativity saved the day"? What the heck are you talking about? We get to listen to her wrapping up the story, when she's the one who's been through the least. Come on, Obi supposedly almost had his fighting spirit broken and we don't get a word from him?

    -The slave stuff was intense.

It's an incredibly cheap tactic. And I really feel in Dooku's case it comes at the expense of his overall character. My interpretation of Dooku outside TCW is not that he's evil like Sidious. I don't think he was ever intended to be, particularly seeing as he was a revered and well-respected Jedi before quitting. And he left and became a Sith because he lost faith in the Jedi and the Republic and believed them to be corrupt and inefficient bodies. It wasn't about seeking the Sith out for dreams of personal glory and power.

This, oh my GOD, this. I don't understand why the show is so terrified to let Obi-Wan take a life. I never got the impression he was a pacifist in any of the movies, the prequels or the originals, or in any of the EU books, games, comics, and so on.

Obi-Wan refusing to kill the Keeper because he was unarmed but allowing another to do so was the stupidest part of the episode, that made me lose faith completely. Any of you ever heard of Granta Omega? Obi-Wan killed him when he was unarmed. He was still a good guy. Anakin is portrayed as a good guy and a hero all the time, and all he does is kill people. Also, Obi-Wan was more then happy to allow Luminara to suffer a fate worse then death and condemn an entire planet to a slow death, so long as he doesn't get his hands dirty, but he can't kill a purely evil slaver who has no right or no purpose to live beyond tormenting the innocent because it wouldn't make him a true Jedi or something? Give me a break.

I honestly don't know if I'll be coming back. This Arc was written by someone who, as far as I know, doesn't even write for the show anymore, meaning this might have been a one-time thing, but of course in the past the show has shown the same tendencies, and I don't know how much more I can take. I mean, the whole point of a TV Show is ENTERTAINMENT, and I'm NOT entertained. I'm skipping the Death Watch/Ahsoka/Lux Arc next week, and check out the plot of the Prison Break episode on Wookieepedia to see if it's worth watching or not. Otherwise, I don't know.
