    @Jedi Bluth, you'll likely appreciate the autobiography of Luca Pacioli. He was a contemporary of daVinci and father of modern accounting. So, therefore, a mathematcian.

    It has been brutal...

    The only day where the temperatures will actually a relief will be Sunday, at a big whooping 37°

    Hopefully, some of this snow, will start melting, but for now it is here to stay.

    IMO there is great fiction and non fiction. It’s really just whatever pricks my fancy. Sometimes I am in a history mood and sometimes I am in a fiction mood. Usually fiction as college has killed my drive to read non fiction.

    I tend to alternate between the two. At the same time.

    I'm currently rereading Faust... and also a biography on the complete history of the Campbell's Soup Company. Which, I suppose is also a story about making a deal with Mephistopheles.

    Being told to read anything for an assignment, whether fiction or nonfiction, always completely ruined my enthusiasm or enjoyment of that material.

    If anyone wants a graphic novel rec, I recommend "Shuna's Journey". If you ever wondered about the origins of Kaze ni Tani no Nausicaa (manga) and Mononoke Hime, there it is.

    I own several manga but they are all based on Hideo Nakata's series Ring. The best one is Sadako At The End of the World, which is about two little girls who survive a catastrophe that ends humanity and they start watching old VHS tapes and see the cursed video so Sadako appears and the naive, friend-starved girls literally have no one else they can show the video to in order to break the curse.

    The only manga I own currently are written by Hayao Miyazaki. When I was in middle school/high school, it was nothing but Sailor Moon and Magic Knight Rayearth, later joined by Tenchi Muyo and Yu-Gi-Oh! I have also read Dr. Slump and DBZ.

    Yes, it's based on her and the premise of Nakata's Ring books/films.

    Although, technically, that image is actually Samara from the Murican remakes. A vastly different character. I have written dissertations on this on here.

    I didn't even know there were associated books and other materials. I knew the English version of The Ring came from a Japanese version but I didn't realize the rest. Now that I'm glancing over a little about it on wiki, I'll have to look into reading some of it one of these days for something different.
