The Blitzkrieger's Guide to the Galaxy

Earth. A tiny speck in the universe, made even more insignificant by this team. What scope! What might! What total disregard to order!

Flavor notes:
A strong body of universal threats coupled with powerful psionic botanicals. Dark and bitter undertones with some surprisingly light hints make this robust team a tough pairing and unpleasant with a lot of dishes, but there is plenty to it to enjoy it on its own.

Little Mr. Sunshine

Will the arrival of Superman disrupt the already precarious family life of this estranged father and son, or will Mongul's influence tear them apart? Bitter enemies collide in this team about the search for ultimate power, galactic domination, and what makes a real family.

Bad blood and even badder baddies make up the body of LMS, but the action is somewhat lacking. Darkseid's appearance had this critic hoping to see a blockbuster mega hit, but what ensued was nothing short of chaos and cheesy sci-fi. While Loki's performance is magical(if a bit underplayed) to watch, and while Sinestro will strike fear into the audience, the overall picture is hurt by a subplot about the would be king of the Mutants, Apocalypse: whose hammy characterization will often times leave you laughing--and not when you're meant to be! Black Adam and Superman manage to steal a few scenes, but it's not enough to overcome the bigger picture.

Overall, Little Mr. Sunshine is a fun, heartfelt thrill ride, even if the punch it's packing is slightly off target of a KO.

*sighs* i have way to many people available on my short list, and i don't know how many will still be there next time around. so... i'm going to think about this a bit more (although chimbly did take one of them for me) and i'll see about getting my pick up sometime tomorrow. too tired to actually make a hopefully good decision right now.
