Adalia watched and was impressed by his attempt to connect with the animal and when it calmed she smiled, but when he went to follow it, she had to stop him. "Hawke?" She made her way to his tent, hoping he'd stop and wait a moment. Reaching in she grabbed his robe and boots and pulled them out before taking them too him, keeping her eye on the Lisk. "No point in helping if you are frozen to death. Next time don't bother with PJ's, yeah?" She handed him the garments.

Hawke quickly ran over to Adalia and put his robe and boots on “right I knew I forgot something, be right back” Hawke said. Hawke then turned and went with the beast to its den near by. After a short distance, he was brought to the den and behold the beast had 3 baby cubs. At first they were frightened but was able to calm them and pet them. Again, reassuring the beast we are not there to hurt her or her cubs, Hawke whistled for the others to come and check out the den and the cubs.

"No" She said holding her hand to the others and narrowing her eyes, sensing where he was. "Do not go to him. This is his task, and the Lisk may not like us all there. His connection is tentative." She explained to the others. "Lets fix this messed up sleeping tent, and see what we can do first." All the while Adalia kept her focus on @Hawke mentally urging him to return and not disturb the nest too much. "We need to get sleep, we have a long journey tomorrow."

aww just a few more minutes, the Lisk and her cubs just adore me” as Hawke is sitting there playing with the cubs. Hawke after a few moments, got up off the ground, dusted the snow off of his robe and said to the Lisks “goodbye friends, we shall see each other again.” Hawke walked back to the campsite nearby and proceeded to help clean up the campsite and entered his tent and fell back asleep.

The Ongree smiled as Addie's Padawan bonded with the creatures, it wasn't every day he saw one so young play with a vicious carnivore with no worry. Hawke certainly had a talent for bonding, and his lesson today would go far in helping him hone it. "Remember, it's always easier to convince others to see your point of view when you work to understand theirs as well." He chuckled as he turned back to his own apprentice. "That is a lesson for diplomacy as well as animal kinship."

This test has challenged the apprentices in ways Semajj had not imagined, and their voyage was still young. Within the hour they needed to begin their march again, the caves ahead should protect them from the vicious winds of a second night, though they could be a labyrinth of their own. Who knows, perhaps Goulden shall find a test for himself along the next part of his trek. "You should get changed too my young Padawan. Feel free to use my tent considering the.... state, yours is in."

Before leaving to aid in the cleanup, Semajj implanted the imagine of the deceased mammal he had sensed last night in the Mama-Lisks mind. A feast that could keep her and her cubs full for a week or more if acted on quickly.

"Messing with the natural order aren´t you Semajj?" Mira gave her fellow council member a grin. She had completly changed into her winter gear again, yet that still didn´t stop the cold completly. "Whole life and death are just natural parts of live only counts as long as children aren´t threatened."

Not that she didn´t blame him for it, she would have done the same if it had been within her powers. What she didn´t want to share was that she was getting nervous. Soon they would reach their destination. Soon she would have the opportunity to gain a crystal for herself. And face the challenges tied to it...

"Thank you, Master, I'll try not to keep you guys waiting" He stepped into the ruined tent, strips of orange flapping wildly in the wind, there was a dusting f snow all over his stuff however with one swipe of the hand it melted and disappeared. He collected his tunic and his robes from his bag and headed over to his master's tent. A short while later he emerged from the tent dressed in his robes smelling of lavender and apple. He took pride in the way that he dressed however this would lead to him spending some time perfecting his small quiff and adjusting the Tabards on his robes.

He quickly set to work but with the state of his tent disassembly proved a challenge. He didn't want to destroy it further as it could be patched up back at the temple but the fabric had lost its strength. His hand slipped. His face turned red. "Oops!" There was a large hole in the side of the tent, a window, sort of.

Once they were all packed up and ready to set off Diric was buzzing with questions. How long is the walk? How will I know which one is mine? His mind was racing, his brain overloaded by the fact that he was going to find his kyber crystal and stand in the cave that all Jedi have gathered in past and present. To think that the people who founded the order had taken part in The Gathering many years ago and that now was his chance. Now was his chance to prove to himself that he can do it, to show his master that he is worthy, to make the Order proud. To make his Master proud. "This is it, This Is It!"

The Ongree eyed his fellow Master with curiosity. "I did not influence her to do anything she would not have done anyways, I simply pointed her in the right direction."
Focusing on the path before them Semajj smiled. "As Jedi we use the force as a guide and serve its will. In every little way we can, we do good where possible."
He was sure it would take some time for his fellow Jedi to reach peak efficiency, the attack was an unforeseen event that disrupted their sleep and prevented them from awaking in a natural way. As he threw the last of his supplies into his backpack, the Master looked to the sky. Even as the stores shine brightly, it was clear that the hemisphere they were on now faced the systems distant solar body. It offered enough warmth to make the world survivable even as for the moment the sky remained dark. Tomorrow the planet would come close enough to its sun to actually melt ice and revigorated the world. It had been an ancient tradition for a young Jedi to search for their first lightsaber crystal during this limited day cycle, and the Master hoped they would reach the Temple before it was too late. Looking to Master Addie and Mira he nodded. "I am ready to continue when the rest of your area."

Having packed up her sleeping tent, Adalia scanned the nearby horizon, light was coming and she knew the next path. Turning back to the group she spoke clearly. "The caverns are below us, the only way down is the cliff face, abseiling. So I really hope you bought rope in your survival kits, if not this could be a short trip." Slinging her sleeping gear over her shoulder she headed to the nearby jagged cliff edge.

OOC Ok, you will each go down around 200m down the face, make it tough, make it fun, make it fraught with danger! Be creative with your decent to the large open mouthed cave, once there, wait at the entrance. ;)

Mira tied a rope around her waist and checked its strenght. It was clearly made for holding things much heavier than her. She showed Jira how to do the same. Having spend countless days in the Eriaduan Wilderness with her Aunts Mira was used to climbs like this, and had in fact survived much more dangerous ones before. "Okay Addie, might be best if I go ahead," she said. "If I fall tell my husband I love him." Not that she even had one... Swining her legs over the cliff she began her climb, being slow and carefull, not just move downwards but also find a save path for Jira to follow. The rocks were sharp and the wind blow hard but moving slowly and steadily helped her avoid the worst. Up until she was about only ten meters away from the entrance. In that moment the part of the rock she had grabbed onto for stability broke and she fell. Using the force to stabilize herself she instantly made the descision to cut the rope with her lightsaber, as to not drag Jira down with her. The force slowed her fall, and the pile of snow she landed onto with her behind softened it further.

Quickly checking herself for any serious injuries she slowly stood up, "I am okay!" She yelled to the others above. Of a bit bruised.

The Ongree sensed his fellow Master was fine before he heard her call back up, and so he was already offering one last bit of direction to the apprentices before they began.
"This is the last part of the journey, once we get beyond the caves below the Temple will be within sight." Looking down into the dark blackness below, his voice went grave. "This also happens to be the most treacherous. Watch your step, trust in the force, and be careful not to disturb any more nests on your way down." Semajj smiled at that last jest.
"When you reach the cave entrance, wait for the rest of us. There is more we must tell you before you enter."

    Ilum Caverns

What an awful way to spend a vacation... It certainly wasn't often that the veiled woman found herself on Ilum, and from what she knew, the place was never a cake walk. Today, however, seemed like it must have been an exceptionally unlucky day on the icy planet. To be fair, it's not like this had been some carefully monitored expedition; she had gotten her quadrants mixed up and had jumped in the exact opposite direction of her destination. What was the jedi saying though? All things as the force wills? Something like that. Still, if any old astrogation classmates found out she'd never live it down...

She clutched her side as another wave of pain hit. As mixed up as this had started, she'd taken the opportunity that presented itself and had decided to search for a crystal from the legendary caverns, but alas, it was just as treacherous as the stories said, and she'd managed to break something. It must've been bad if she couldn't even see what was wrong, though the caves could be messing with her mind by now... that or she'd hit her head somewhere in the tumble down to the cavern.

As the castaway groaned again, she felt something change in the air. Looking up, she thought she saw someone at the cave entrance. Summoning all her strength, she shouted, "Help! Somebody help!"

She just hoped she'd last long enough for them to reach her, or that one of the roaming creatures of this half accursed planet didn't get to them first.

Looking down cliff and swing such darkness and not knowing what was down there was a little frightening for a Jedi in training for Hawke. Hawke lowered his rope down the cliff and looked at his Master before he turned and started to propel himself down the cliff. “Slow and steady” Hawke kept saying to himself. Steady rock after steady rock, Hawke looked down to make sure we was hitting all the good rocks in his way. After what seemed like hours, was only minutes, Hawke finally reached the bottom. Unhooking himself from his rope, Hawke had nothing more than just a small flashlight to help see what was around him but it didn’t work well with the density of the fog and the snow falling at the bottom of the cliff.

Snow obscured his vision hiding the treacherous dangers which lurked below, waiting. Waiting for Him.

Diric had abseiled before and was competent in doing it however, he had only abseiled heights 4 times smaller than this. This would be a challenge, if the rope frayed and failed, it was it. He knew it. He tied the rope around his waist and he glanced down, Big mistake. Diric had a slight fear of heights however he was determined not to let this get in the way of what he had worked so hard for. "Why couldn't they had just parked the ship down near the cave or something like that." There was a slight uneasiness in his voice. "Ooh they should have let us skydive down into the cave, that would be more fun." Whenever he was scared he always talked and rambled on and tried to make jokes to himself. "Well, if the rope held those peeps, it will hold me. I think." He gave the thumbs up signal and he leapt of the side of the cliff. "Geronimo!" The first couple of metes were smooth sailing however 50m down the rope got snagged on a jagged rock. "Great!" The rock sliced through most of the rope but it could still hold his weight. He untied his knot and climbed up to where the cut was. His hand gripped a lose stone. He was Hanging 150m away from his death. He decided to climb most of the way down freehand, with no rope. He yelled down to the Jedi on the ground to assemble a huge bile of snow to brake his fall, He was depending on them to do it correctly if not...

He made his way down the cliff with no hiccups, unless if you call nearly falling 150m to your doom smooth sailing.

Diric could see that the Jedi have assembled a little pile of snow that he could fall down onto. "Thanks guys!" he reached the 10m mark. He looked down and jumped.

Diric landed in the snow with a large thwack. Thankfully the snow broke his fall as intended yet still the impact jarred him. He came up covered in snow and bruises."Hey look, I'm Santa!"

Though Jira often explored places on her homeworld of Deyer, rock climbing wasn't one of them. Watching her master show her how to attach her rope and descend into unknown depths was starting to give her a bit of vertigo, even though she was usually open to new experiences, such as this. "Perhaps I should have just ignored that captor and continued on with my slave duties." Jira thought to herself, wondering (not for the first time) if she got in way over her head.

Clutching her thermal blanket around her, Jira closed her eyes and made the leap, hoping that the rope tied around her waist didn't break. When she finally ventured to open her blue eyes, she was relieved that it didn't and did the same thing that her master did; hold on to the rope while she shimmied down the cliff, trying not to bounce around too much to make sure that the rope didn't break (she heard many horror stories of that happening to those that did this kind of thing on a regular basis. Though Jira herself was quite adventurous, she thought that if she ever tried this activity, a similar fate would befall her, and look where she was now; on a freezing planet half-way down a cliff and she was still alive! Perhaps there was hope for her yet).

About half ways down, her rope did manage to get snagged on part of the cliff that was more jagged than the rest. "This is it!" Jira thought to herself as she climbed up to the spot where her rope had gotten stuck. As she was getting it un-stuck (which took a bit of doing, since she realized it was starting to fray in the spot it got snagged, and hoped it would hold until she got back on solid ground), she held onto the part that was starting to unravel and continued to shimmy herself down the cliff (she thought it was the safest way down, but since she was holding onto the part of rope that was starting to come apart, it took her a little longer to reach the others on solid ground).

As she rejoined her master and the others, she asked her if this kind of thing was normal for Jedi to have to do (since if it were, she would have to get a little more practice in, so that she knew what to do if the rope that was tied around her waist did happen to break and she found herself hurtling down to her possible death), and wonder what other adventures awaited her on her way to becoming a Jedi (and hopefully find out what had happened to her father).

The Ongree watched as the others descended the cliff steadily and was happy all made it down safe.
It wasn't as if he or any of the other master's would halve let any of the Padawan's fall to their death, but it spoke volumes of their skill and patience that they had avoided any serious entanglements. Speaking of patience, they were slightly behind schedule now and Semajj hoped to correct that. Looking to Addie he smiled. "Last one down smells like a TaunTaun." He teased, leaping from the edge just a moment after Jira touched bottom.
Naturally this route wasn't the safest, but one of the benefits of being a Master was you didn't need to worry quite so much about such trivialities.
He heard his heart beating as he grabbed one of the nearby ropes and rand along the edge, kicking off one of the jagged spires. It had been many years since the Jedi had attempted something that might be construed as reckless, but at least here the only risk was to himself.
That last part he reminded himself as his momentum increased while gravity took hold.

Relying on an old technique his first Master had taught him Nosrep calmed his mind and rejected that panic which would surely spell certain doom to any lesser Jedi.
Semajj himself had always been acrobatic challenged but going down was certainly easier than going up.
In the last half the voyage forcibly slowing his dissent and aiding his mental prowess where he could by grabbing at small outcroppings.

Over time it began to feel like he was floating, though his arms began to tire shortly after he slid down only large stalactite.
Finally, he felt the ground beneath his boots, but sadly his knees gave in just as he reached the bottom. A cramp in his lower back reminded him that acting without thinking could have rash consequences. Jedi trusted their feelings, but also their brains.
Even as he brought himself to his feet, he chastised himself. He wasn't that old, but recklessness always paid a price. Looking to Mira he shrugged. "Remind me never to do that again." To his Padawan he scrunched his features. "And you best learn from my mistakes."

Rubbing his back gently, he looked into the cave entrance. "This labyrinth will be your final trial before the temple. We should wait for Master Addie but be prepared. To traverse these caves, we will need to break up into smaller teams."

Having tied her rope of, this was a piece of cake. Adalia grew up in the foothills of a mountain range, scaling cliff faces started when she was a kid. Several nasty falls as well, but she knew this now and using her skill and Force abilities in conjunction with each other, she vaulted down the cliff face easily. Sensing the creatures around her she stopped half way down to find a nest, small winter birds of a kind nestled under their oily feathered parent, who watched her carefully. With a smile she left them in peace before continuing her journey, reaching the ground only a few moments after Semajj.

"Eh, Taun Tauns aren't that bad" She shrugged, "believe me, I've smelled worse."

Something pulled her to look into the cave, a feeling of pain. Holding her hand up she spoke quietly. "Quiet please, something is not.....right." She glanced at Semajj and Mira. "Do you feel that?"

    Crystal caverns

    Crack! Crack!

The injured woman startled at the sound of... something she'd rather not identify at the moment. She was shivering violently and constantly, but she knew she'd be fine. Hadn't she seen some people just a bit ago? They'd get here soon. Taking a breath took a lot of effort, but her hands didn't feel nearly as cold, and the shivering wasn't nearly as bad, so that was nice. In fact, she was pretty sure she'd be fine if she just stayed here a while. What's the worst that could happen, right? It'd be unfortunate, definitely, but it wasn't really that big of a deal, just the way things go sometimes.

The cold was bad, yes, but plenty of people had survived... where was she again? Alpherides?

Wait a second, she couldn't have been there - it looked so faint but she could've sworn she saw a group of sith she knew in the distance, igniting the newfound sabers they held with crystals that shone with... oh no, it looked like they were jedi after all. One came closer and started a fire. She knew she should've been worrying more about the cold, but she'd be fine now, the, dark jedi? doubtful sith? whatever, it was alive and here to help. It couldn't quite breach the energy shield around the perimeter, but it managed to carve through some exposed ice to reach her. She tried to ask it something about what was going on, but the words wouldn't quite form correctly.

    Wait she was alone.

    Alone and everything hurt.

Maybe if she could just get a bit more shelter that'd be nice just move aside some rock ices and settle down.

Tag: whoever comes across her in the labyrinthine caves
OoC: time frame wise, this one's intended to go from her slightly more lucid attempt to call for help until whoever wants to finds her.

Diric swept a crude circle in the snow with his feet, his meditation circle. He sat down legs crossed eyes closed. He placed his arms on his legs and focused his mind. "I am one with the force and the force is with me" He repeated the phrase slowly in a whisper. He felt his mind drift off as he let go of the outside world and became one with the Force in meditation.

Diric felt cold, a chill ran down his back. she was alone afraid. He recited what he felt and saw to the group.
"I feel cold, she is cold, alone, afraid" Diric himself was afraid, he could be injured, if there were to be any enemies she would be dead meat. He focused more to see if she is alone and where. "She is in the Crystal Caverns! We must help her!" "hang on!" "some one else is there weather they be friend or foe I don't know." Why would other people be down at Illum? Its a sacred planet for both Jedi and Sith. There were no other scheduled visits from other padawans set up so who are they? Explorers? Sith? Diric didn't know, all he knew is that she was in danger. She needed our help. She needs our help.

Semajj smiled at his apprentice's intuition, he may one day become an empath yet.
His apprentice's journey would have to wait for another time, nothing happened by accident and if the Jedi were to take action now was the time.
"If you've made a connection, you should lead the way." The Master directed in a calm voice. On illum everything was a learning experience: visions, animals, and even the weather itself would inevitably test the young Jedi and it wasn't for him to step in the way of a crisis that would help refine them into the best Jedi they could be.
In the most extreme circumstance, he or his fellow master's could intervene, but the Force was telling him at this moment it was up to Goulden, Hawke and Elnath to solve this riddle.

He gestured to the other Jedi, "Follow me" He bent over and examined a medium sized footprint. This was hers.
He closed his eyes and walked forwards with his arm outstretched trying to focus his mind. Hey was able to focus his mid easily at the Temple but
now it was almost impossible. A faint smell of lavender drifted through the caverns. She loved lavender, Her chambers was full of sweet smelling lavender plants. "Bingo!"
He walked in a wicker pace the turned into a run, He beckoned the other Jedi to run with him so we can reach her quicker. The smell grew and grew until he could see a faint outline of a woman laying down on the snow behind a large column of ice. He started to claw at it, punch at it and kick it. Little by little he managed to make a small crack. He placed his hand on the wall and envisioned it shattering. A large cracking sound erupted and a large plume of ice engulfed him. "Don't worry master, we've got you!"

The only problem now is how do we get out?

Following Diric into the cave, we came across footsteps. Diric bent down and examined them and we continued on our search to find the woman.it was dark and cold. We knew we had to rely heavily on our senses to know where we were going. As we grew closer, the smell of lavender filled the cave. What’s that? Hawke said to his fellow Jedi. It was a chamber full of lavender. Bingo! We found where the lavender scent came from. Looking around, we saw a woman, she was lying on the snow faint, behind a think piece of ice. Has he saw his fellow jedi start to claw, punch, and kick at it to try and break it, Hawke joined him. It’s not budging Hawke said. Diric placed his hand on the ice and shattered it, we quickly ran over to the woman. As we were helping the woman, a large sound came over us and ice engulfed them. Standing and observing the situation, Hawke, said our only way out is now blocked. Walking over to the entrance where the engulfed and locked them in, it’s pretty think. Calling out to the masters, but they couldn’t hear us. Placing his hand on the ice to see if he can shatter it, didn’t work, Hawke wasn’t powerful enough with that ability. Calling Diric over to see if both can place their hands and shatter it and it was still too thick. Neither jedi was able to shatter it. Looking at each other and then back at the jedi on the ground, Hawke started walking around and looking for any sign of a way out. Hawke came to a spot in the far point of the room, there was a hole behind the snow, he thought to himself was it the force telling me to come here? Not knowing where it will lead, a small spider came crawling out of the hole into the chamber. Hawke called his fellow Jedi over, I hate spiders.

Like her fellow Jedi Mira had noticed the suffering and plea for help ahead, but agreeing with her fellow masters she decided to stay away, leave this for the padawan´s to solve. She asked herself if this was the first of the obstacles the cave itself was setting up for them. She had heard numerous stories about it, how it would swallow any padawan not ready to be a Jedi and other such horror stories.
But bracing herself, Mira instead stepped towards the entrance of a different tunnel, one that seemed to be calling out to her. This was the place she mused, the place she would have to find her own crystal. She wondered if she was the first Jedi in history who had waited with this undertaking until they had become a council member.
