There is nothing unnatural about force lightning.
I bet half of the jedi in the council could do it but are afraid to turn.
The only powers that seem unnatural are Plageius's powers.
What other powers do the sith have that are actually unnatural?

 

It seems to me that Lucas hints in ROTS at several unnamed dark side powers. Palpatine apparently has the ability to cloud the vision of the Jedi which is possibly a dark side ability considered to be unnatural. Also, many have moaned about the ease with which Palpatine takes out the three Jedi accompanying Mace Windu during his attempted arrest, but I think Palpatine is capable of some kind of dark side version of the Jedi mind trick where he can throw an opponent off for a crucial split-second. There is the issue of Palpatine's appearance too. Does he have some dark side ability to change his appearance or mask his true form from others?

He said that when they were testing anakin.
Anakin could've been the source for that too.
Secondly, the three jedi that palps takes out were unaware that he was that good.
Palps also uses a form IV in lightsaber combat where he uses speed to outmamuever his opponents.
Laastly, his scarred appearance is due to the lightning that mace deflects, not the force

There is more to the dark side than just Force lightning.

Both force choke and force lightning are moves probably half of the jedi council could do.
The only thing im convinced is unnatural is the yellow eyes

 

To get darkside powers such as force lightening, you have to manipulate the force to get them. Manipulating the force brings the force out of balance because the force was not meant to be used in these unnatural ways.

 

saving someones wife from certain death could be considered 'unnatural'

i think it was just another line leading to his masterplan of turning anakin

It's all about extending life or creating life using the force. This is considered to be "unnatural" as opposed the Jedi acceptance of death and transcendence into the force.

 

the only person who knew how to do that was Plageius and sidious if he was his apprentice.

 

Here is another dark power:

In Dark Rendezvous Dooku uses the force to painfully expand Assajj Ventress's blood vessals. I assume if he can expand them, he can pop them.

Very nasty use of the force.

See, if we take the powers of the force to their logical end, Jedi and Sith could do things like make people's hearts explode in their chest. Thus, the danger of following EU sources.

The abilities that Palpatine was refering to was total bait - cheating death - which some consider to be unnatural because as Yoda says "Death is a natural part of Life" or something like that.

As yoshi said, its the extending/saving life that he is talking about, whereas the jedi accept it.
if your talking about actual powers that are unnatural, i think jumping really high, mind tricking people, making things move without touching them for example, are pretty unnatural arent they, or are they everyday things i dont see?!?!?! (so the dark side would be no different to the light)
