Hope that there will be a lot more politics in future Phase III novels, with pro-military voices in Senate becoming much louder.

So I feel incredibly stupid, but I just realized the Starros’s of the high republic are related to Sana Starros. lol.

I don’t know why I didn’t make the connection until reading the starros comic. I am extremely dumb. :p

It probably would have went over my head as well because I'm horrendous with remembering character names, but I just happened to listen to the Aphra audio at the same time I was reading one of the HR books that had Avon in it a lot and I was like..... wait a second.

But it also took me until recently to remember that the old fella at the start of TFA was San Tekka and make THAT connection so...

With the level of bad publicity because of Ghirra's actions, it is strange that Starros clan's members did not outright change their surname.

Probably thanks to Avon. Professor/Doctor Starros is probably the ancestor they choose to remember.

Plus in a galactic timeline of thousands of years I am sure there are a lot of jackasses in most family trees.

I think they definitely had that in mind for the Grafs at least. The Grafs in Adventures in Wild Space- the nicest folks you'll meet. The Grafs in the HR era- not exactly worth looking up to.

Fair point, especially if Avon is going to help to defeat the Nihil.

Seems like the level of Grafs' goodness depends on their wealth (or rather on lack of it).

Maybe The Skywalkers were tyrants in older times, ironic if slavers.

I mean in a galaxy that has space travel for 25k years I am sure every family has a slaver or two in their lineage. Hmm now you have me curious about something else. To google I go.

Okay ya my suspicions were correct. Even in America’s short history most Americans are related to a slave owner (although not directly)

My point is even in the real world if you track your family lineage back to say 1800 you’re likely to find one that did something horrible. Star Wars probably has family records going back well past 10,000 years ago. There are bound to be hundreds of *******s.

anyway the point being. I think it’s weird to change your name because of one evil person. So I am glad the Starros did not.

Shadow of Starlight was really good. One of the best minis they have done in awhile. Did a very good job of setting the stage for Phase III.

I am currently reading it right now and am about 70% through according to my Kindle. I am enjoying it so far.

I will be posting a full review with my thoughts (hidden beneath spoiler tags as necessary) in the Escape from Valo thread when I am finished with it. That should be some time later this week.

It is a bit thicker in terms of page count than many of the previous High Republic middle grade readers, which is why some reviews and reactions to the book might have been slower in coming.

Oh yeah, it's definitely bigger - we're teaching the kids early to not fear big books.

A book called Temptation of the Force with Avar and Elzar on the cover. I'm going to like this story.
