Apparently I was just trying to see how close I could come to the deadline without going over it. Here's my Week 4 entry, posted one minute before midnight EST: Firefight

 

Just to point out something that I mentioned in a review I left on one of your stories just a few days ago: saying so much in so few words like you do is a very special talent too

 

My week 5 double drabbles are in A padawan for Dooku

 

Personally, I can't help but feel these little stories would be much improved if they weren't confined to 200 words each. But they are double-drabbles, and double-drabbles they shall remain, as I present my set for Week Five:

"Dreams from the Magic Theatre"

Week 5

I'm not very happy with these but I finished them in the midst of a really busy week with a lot of RL stuff happening. So I'm proud of myself for that at least.

Despite a more restrictive word limit (and a professed loathing of drabbles from many ), you guys rose to the challenge and turned out some great fics! I'm excited to see what you'll make of our next prompt...

That's it, no other stipulations! There are many ways you can spin this prompt, and not all of them involve turning your beloved heroes to the dark side... although some of them certainly do! Whether your fave is good, bad, or somewhere in between, they must be the antagonist of your story, the main obstacle to your protagonist achieving their goal, whatever that may be. Be creative, have fun, and as always, happy writing!

86 (Eighty-Six), an anime about a nation that uses unmanned, ethically responsible combat drones to fight the robot Legion from a neighboring imperial power. In reality, those "unmanned" drones are piloted by the Eighty-Six - people who are considered less than human and therefore expendable. This is a show that rewards repeat viewings; there were many moments early on that hit even harder as my understanding of the world grew. Like last year's drabble inspiration, this show isn't quite meant for kids, but it has excellent animation and an addictive musical score, and it's adapted from a series of Japanese light novels, so if you watch the show and find yourself wanting more, there are several more stories to dive into. I watched it in English on Crunchyroll, but there are several dubs, as well as the original Japanese. I can't recommend this show enough.

 

Never no way nohow would I have guessed the show, although I am intrigued.

Look, did I come up with this prompt for the sole purpose of getting Gabri to write Emperor's Hand!Nico? No. Was I hoping that might be the result?

But then I somehow got her to write Emperor's Hand!Nico for her drabbles, so I suppose my cup is full, and she can write whatever she wants, I won't pester...

This can be OCs as well as established and cannon characters?

 

Just to make sure I understand this prompt correctly: you're not asking us to make one of our fave characters villainous, you're asking us to put them in a situation where they are the antagonist to whoever the protagonist of the story will be. Right?

Also, count me in for the organisation of demonstrations and possibly riots demanding the return of Hand!Nico to the boards.
