I wish the Mariners understood that this series isn't about playing baseball. They have been tasked with defeating evil on behalf of all humanity.

Don’t even get a 19 inning playoff game out of it. **** everything.

Imagine being a fan who attended that game. First home playoff game in 20 years, going through 2 games worth in one day and not seeing your team score a run, and also you've been eliminated.

Hopefully the other series drags on a bit and the Astros atrophy during the interim.

Well, the Phillies have served their dark purpose as the Lesser Evil. Back to the regularly scheduled hatred. Go NL West team!

    Amazing.

I mean, just ... If there's no lockout, Oscar Gonzalez is for sure claimed by somebody in the Rule 5 Draft this past off-season.

Instead. There's no Rule 5 Draft. He stays in the Cleveland organization. And he's delivered the winning hit in three of the four Guardians wins this postseason.

Just incredible. Kevin Costner wouldn't accept a role in a baseball movie about that, because it would seem too fairy tale to be true.

A review of this bottom of the 7th, from a Dodger perspective:

Who would have thought the NLCS would be Padres-Phillies?

Not the biggest, but certainly in the conversation; perhaps it'll be better next season to win between 83-93 games & sneak into the playoffs. It's some wicked Devil's curse on my birthday to counter Gibson's magical '88 Series game 1 home run, for the Dodgers are now 1-7 on this date in my adult life, with this being the 3rd such instance of elimination; a special, hell-ish sting. Padres getting more key hits (duh), and played with a little more heart; oooooof.

@A Chorus of Disapproval, @HanSolo98 Go Phillies!

While I obviously want our club to win, I'm glad there is no chance of reopening Phillies/Dodgers wounds like Victorino's grand slam off of CC Sabathia. I will have far less guilt watching the Padres be steamrolled.

    Great season, Dodgers.
