The 2020 rings of players on the 2024 team will be relegated to various drawers and closets, to be found by curious descendants.

The Yankees choked their season away in one inning.

At the end of the day, they're among a long line of loser teams who are just happy to be there.

The best team that money can buy just beat the best team that Hal Steinbrenner is willing to buy. Just try and change my opinion over that.

Seems like 29 out of 30 teams just won the World Series tonight, doesn't it?

What a series. Really had a bit of everything-- Extra innings. Walkoff (grand slam!) Freddie Freeman getting a star from MarioKart. One of the most egregious fan interference/interactions you'll ever see in sports. A bonkers unearned run inning. Aaron Judge cosplaying as John Cena. Starters in relief.

I was a nervy emotional time bomb for most of the game, when Flaherty crashed and burned it was absolutely ominous. Roberts burned through our bullpen quickly with Walker to finish, it was the correct decision but in the moment I couldn’t help worrying that if we failed to seal the deal then our arms would be weak going back to LA. It didn’t start this way, but quickly started to feel like a must-win game.

And what a game! Yes we benefited from many Yankees mistakes but in the moment it was pure electricity. Congrats to our Dodgers, I’m so happy for them, especially Freddie who had a career defining performance through the series.

Watched it at my local bar and when the jukebox started playing I Love LA followed by Today Was a Good Day, it’s never sounded sweeter. Without gloating one bit, I hope every sports fan gets to have an experience like this, just awesome. Good night y’all. [face_peace]

The New York Yankees died in 2004. What's existed since then is a ghost with 2009 the last frame zombie scare.

This franchise doesn't deserve the Yankee name, logos or history.

They're the Dallas Cowboys of baseball. All they have is a past and a big fanbase.

MLB is crap anyway. After what they did to Oakland, they can all go jump in a lake.

Shohei jumps ship and immediately gets a ring meanwhile Mike Trout is going to die with one career playoff appearance.

Insane to see them come back from a five run deficit. Really great postseason to watch. Dodgers lost so badly yesterday, it's almost as if it's been forgotten how much they dominated this series and won it 4-1. Unlawful assemblies are being declared all over Los Angeles.

@Glitterstimm Watched the game at home with my brother, mom & Lucy. Don't know what part of town that bar you were at was in, but heard enough fireworks & random howling here in Reseda after the final out. The flood of excitement among flipping through all the local channels & SNLA is the best godaamn thing. :D ENJOY!

How ****ing niiiiice this all is, man. The 2020 triumph will have it's place in my heart & memories, but this just hits different. A full season, coming back from a 2-1 NLDS deficit to beat the pesky Padres, winning the pennant at home, and triumphing over the Yankees in a World Series matchup I've been waiting for my entire life. Freeman's Series performance, and the utter bliss of that game 1 walk-off grand slam forever cemented as an all-time great thing (and my brother tackling me to the ground in his excitement always going to be a part of our memories of that game, etc); the bullpen dawgs doing their thing well when needed the most; Yamamato & Buehler pitching so well (Flaherty a little too hot & cold :p ); Mookie finally having a sold offensive showing (throughout this postseason ), and Ohtani pressing post-shoulder issues after game 2... all stupendous. And all the silly ****, too- the random ass Sopranos memes that flooded my Twitter feed during this Series, the 'Where's Mary Hart?' Twitter account I discovered earlier this year, and me & brother both saying during game 3 "is that Pat Sajak behind home plate?"

The happy sentiments/congratulatory texts, tags, etc from everyone here are appreciated more than I can ever explain without turning into more of puddling mess, because feelings/a night like this can never be taken for granted.

And one last thing of course...

    .

Expecting the Newman version, didn't you?! :p Heard this version for the 1st time some months ago, and, well, I dig it.
