Another question for you:

Were the new Clone Wars references and content (the Battle of Dreighton dating-lock, the Essles aftermath and Mirgoshir info, the Foerost siege account, et al) taken from the aborted RPG sourcebook?

Having recently re-flipped through Jedi Apprentice: The Ties That Bind (I think it was) hunting down some obscure planetary reference, I can confirm that Tahl's death occurred in 41 BBY -- Obi-Wan's described as having turned sixteen not long before the story, which would place it nine years before 32 BBY.

Dan- is the back cover reference to Anakin Solo's struggle with the darkside an error? It seems to be implying Skywalker, not Solo but I suppose it could arguably be a description applying to both.

the Corellian Trade Spne is said to be "recently established" c. 5500 BBY on page 7, but later said to be discovered c. 3000 BBY on page 26.

And are we certain Tatooine was NOT a member of the Republic in Sidrona's day? Sidrona was Supreme Chancellor c. 4,000 BBY - 3,997 BBY. Is Tatooine NOT a Republic member in KOTOR? If not, remember that KOTOR is 3,956 BBY. It is possible the Republic abandoned Tatooine after the Exar Kun War or after the Mandalorian Wars.

It was and it wasn't a member. And abandonment is exactly what happened after the Exar Kun and Mandalorian Wars.

The planet had gotten settled and resettled numerous times throughout history, and Tatooine -- as we see it in the Tales of the Jedi period -- was colonized circa 4,200 BBY by mining and other industrial concerns, clarified to be under the Czerka auspices in the first Knights of the Old Republic.

This meant that the Republic had granted a mining-charter to the corporation, but also that they had relative free reign to conduct their own affairs. Citizens could appeal to the Jedi for intervention if they so chose, but the day-to-day shots were called by the megacorps. Sidrona and Dace Diath both grew up in this atmosphere of Czerka-controlled lifestyle, which makes it slightly remarkable that Sidrona could rise not only to the rank of Jedi Master, but also to Supreme Chancellor of the Republic itself.

The game further insinuates that Tatooine lay adjacent to something of a major hyperlane hub in that period, but the game's own character dialogue and loading-screen continuity bits make prophetic, retconnic reference to what had already been established in works like the Secrets of Tatooine sourcebook: namely that the ores in the planet were about to run dry, and that with Czerka's planned pullout, Tatooine would once again become a forsaken ghost world.

This did indeed happen not long after the Tales of the Jedi era, and it was around the year 1,100 BBY that a new Republic Survey Corps ship "discovered" the Tatoo system once again, designating it "System J11.9," although evidently not fully claimed by them (as we hear from Qui-Gon's dialogue in TPM).

I looked through it in Barnes and Noble yesterday. Very cool. I liked it much more than the first one. Esp. the entries on the KotOR games. Cleared up and solidified a few things. And we finally got a picture of Kar Vastor.

Which makes the Diath family all the more remarkable, since they must have moved off Tatooine and then recolonised it c. 100 BBY.

Well take a look at Exar Kun. He reminds me of the Red Ranger Jason from Power Rangers.
