Padawan Direwolf, you far exceeded my expectations in doing your task. You are doing very well with your tasks and I am ever impressed. :)
You provide interesting points and I can understand where you are coming from. I too admire Revan, not for his turning to the dark side, but how amazing his redemption and turning to the path of light was. He is a great example and I am very pleased that you chose him. :)

As for classes the last lesson that was given is the following:
Lesson 2: The Jedi Path and Jedi Training.

To be a Jedi required the deepest commitment, and most serious mind. Often, and immediately after birth, those individuals with Force abilities were taken from their families, and brought to the Jedi temple headquarters on the planet of Coruscant for training, or to a smaller Jedi Enclaves as padawans. The reason children were often taken from their families so soon was to hinder transgression.

rational thought, patience, and benevolence were just some of the concepts included in the strict code that Jedi were required to adhere to from the beginning of their training. Hate, anger and fear were banned from Jedi practice. Not only because these emotions were uncomfortable, but also distructive behavior, led to the dark side of the Force.

Younglings were trained in a clan by an experienced Jedi master, learning the basics of the ways of the Jedi, as well as Force powers and lightsaber skills, while padawans and their masters went on missions assigned by the Jedi Council.

After Ruuisan, it was normal for Jedi trainees to be children, but after the Jedi headquarters was established on the planet of Yavin 4, that was no longer the case. The initiates were trained by Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, then in groups under the direction of another Jedi master in time. Only after an individual achieved satisfactory understanding of the Jedi way were they taken as padawans for separate instructions to complete their training. Besides accompanying their masters on missions, padawans also went on missions alone for practice, and to gain experience. In the days of the Old Republic, individuals who were not chosen for padawanship were placed in one of the divisions of the Service Core.

Assignments for those who wish to complete them, and for others waiting on a master, or whose master is away:

Note: If any master of a padawan wishes to count any class assignment that their padawan has completed as a part of their padawan’s training, please, feel free to do so.
Example: Your padawan has done 3 tasks, but you were gone and they were bored, or they just volunteered to write essays on Tython and the Jedi Civil war. If you want to count those assignments as Tasks 4 and 5 in your padawan’s training, that’s fine with me.
Masters may also assign their padawans a task from a Class Assignment list at any time if they wish.

These are essays with a 500 word minimum, but no time limit.

    Jedi Class: Lesson 2 Assignments

    Coruscant
    Ruuisan
    Yavan 4
    Bandomeer
    Obi-Wan Kenobi
    Qui-Gon Jinn
    Luke Skywalker
    Jedi Temple
    Jedi Service Core

This was from our very own Grand Master. :)

But, as your final task I want you to write an essay about a lightsaber. Its color, its design, its significance. If you can find pictures to correlate with the information then it is surely welcomed, but for this task I will not require pictures. Think long and hard about this. This is the last task you will complete before becoming knighted. :)

Conveying The Light Side Through The Lightsaber

An Essay by Direwolf (Kato Sai)

    Light Club/Great Lightsaber

The Light Club or Great Lightsaber is a specialized weapon that uses unique focusing crystals and power systems to create a 3 meter length blade. Great Lightsabers are typically built by those who are considered giant or larger than average Jedi. The hilt of the Light Club is also longer, making it ideal for Djem So combat form and the Falling Leaf strike, which I favor. I am a tall sentient being and have trained with a Light Club and the advantages of this particular weapon appeals to me. It allows me greater reach and a better grip that no other saber can offer. Upon wielding such a weapon, I found that my natural strength made this weapon deadly. However, The Great Lightsaber is more to me than a means to dispatch assailants. As it is written in the Jedi Way, a Lightsaber is a symbol of the Order. By wearing this particular symbol, I wish to convey to all I encounter the "greatness" of the Jedi Order.

    Lightsaber Crystal

I have considered the many crystals in the caves of Dantooine and Yavin IV. There was a time when I desired the blue of the Jedi Guardian. To me it always symbolized the Jedi Knight, having been the fraternal color used by famous Jedi like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. However, despite my love for duels, I do not want to seek out conflict as Guardians do. I admire and will use my Lightsaber when called to action, but the blue crystal would make me desire conflict. For a time I also considered the yellow crystal of the Jedi Sentinel. It being a rare crystal, the candle light glow called to me. The role of Jedi Sentinel was also seductive, the idea of being a Jedi Shadow and being undercover to protect the Order was inspiring. However, after further consideration, I see that the Sentinel Life is not for me. If compelled like Kenobi, I would go into hiding and preserve our teachings. But living intentionally this way, day to day does not suite me. Thus I have come to my choice: the green crystal. The green crystal is often the choice of Jedi Consulars. It denotes a dedication and devotion to the Force. Those who wield emerald sabers are negotiators and diplomats. They seek to resolve situations peacefully and only draw their saber if there is no other course of action. I admire this quality. While using a green crystal does not mean I cannot ignite my saber more often than say Master Yoda, I think restraint is something I should aspire to. It would be easier to be a Guardian and swashbuckler my way through situations, and it would be much harder to be a Sentinel and deny my devotion publicly to the Order. As a Consular I seek the Light and endeavor with every step to bring peace, which is the essence of our belief. In this way I am to rely completely on the Light and not on my own strength or cunning.

Padawan4687, be not envious or intimidated by my tasks. Each Jedi is unique and offers something special to the Order. I owe much to those who sharpened me and shared their diverse views with me. I am eager to read tasks by other Jedi here. So please share. :)

Kato is correct. Do not compare yourself to any other padawan. You are your own person and are expected to be you, no one else. :)

I suppose I need to finish my Initiate task before I can really share anything...and, who could blame me for feeling a little envious of the Padawan who can make a five-paragraph essay out of a task? :p My largest task was only about three paragraphs!

Nadia-Oomia: Oh, I know...it just stinks that I haven't been able to write very well concerning tasks.

Padawan4687, my lengthy paragraphs were once confusing and chaotic tell I studied under two Grammer Masters. Even if a thought is exceptional and brilliant, if you cannot convey it, it remains a thought. So I owe them for teaching me how to channel those thoughts through the written word. As for paragraph length, I am learning now that it can be better if you can succiently write something short than something long. While you marvel at the length I can create, I am trying to learn how to make my paragraphs shorter. :D

Kato Sai, you're trying to make your paragraphs shorter? I've only ever had that sort of problem with my sentence-structure.... I'd write out something that looks like a fat paragraph, and then I'd realize it was only four sentences divided over and over through commas! Then again, I haven't written much outside of school for a while now... :) I marvel at both the length and the detail you can create!

Padawan4687, your compliments do me great honor. I would encourage you to keep writing. As a writer I am not stranger to self deprecation and often what I consider to be utter dribble, turns out to be something deep and meaningful to someone else. It is quite humbling when in school I would write, certain that I had a masterpiece, only to be informed it was just average. Then something that I loathed or considered to be a chaotic mess of a paper was praised and considered a crowning achievement. It seems that this was meant to curb pride. As Jedi we often talk about the dangers of fear, anger, and hate; but pride is another path to the Dark Side.

I had a slightly more elaborate hilt, but the lines kept breaking away on the outsides (top and bottom) and thus I had to be content with what is posted.

I have my own way of constructing a lightsaber.

    Lightsaber Construction Key:

    Hilt: |
Activation and deactivation button or buttons: o, O, or 0
Base of the hilt: < or =
    Blade: -
    Tip of blade: >

I designed mine to be a Great Lightsaber/Light Club. I had to make a very long hilt and blade. I used the > at the beginning of the blade to make it reminiscent of Anakin Skywalker's Lightsaber hilt from Episode II:

    [IMG] [IMG]

    My Lightsaber:

    (III=II=I==I===0III>=========================>

Anakin's Praetor hilted Lightsaber was one of the sabers I trained with as a Youngling. I wanted to replicate its style but make the handle and hilt longer for Shien/Djem So combat form. I also wanted the minimum 3 Meter blade. The end result is a hybrid of Anakin's EPII Lightsaber and the Great Lightsaber. :)

Note: For the sake of time, and the fact that usually people are not always Online at the same time, a bit of godmodding will occur.

    Kato Sai

We are all Jedi. The Force speaks through us. Through our actions, the Force proclaims itself and what is real. Today we are here to acknowledge what the Force has proclaimed.

    Padawan Direwolf, Please, step forward.

    **The padawan steps forward**

    please kneel.

    The padawan kneels.

**All of the Council members ignite their lightsabers, filling the room with a beautiful luminescent glow**

By the right of the Council,
By the will of the Force,
    Dub thee I do,
Knight of the New Jedi Trials Jedi Order!

**Master Star lops off the padawans braid, and the light emitted from the lightsabers disappears as the plasma energy fades into the hilts**

    Here, take this,

**Master Star hands the former padawan a scroll with the words of the Jedi Code written on it**
**She then recites each line of the Jedi Code**

There is no emotion: there is peace.
There is no ignorance: there is knowledge.
There is no passion: there is serenity.
There is no death: there is the Force.

Rise, as a Jedi Knight, young one, and watch, as your destiny unfolds!

**Master Star breaks into a kneeling bow**

May the Force be with you...

    Congratulations, Jedi Knight Kato Sai.

*Kato Sai stands before the Council*

I am honored beyond words. I shall endeavor with every breath to uphold the Jedi Code and to protect the Order. I wish to thank my Master @Nadia-Oomia for her guidance and I hope now we can be as brother and sister and continue to learn from each other. I want to thank you Grand Master @Rainbow Knight Star for bringing me to the Temple where I was taught the tasks and trials of a Jedi. I shall continue to abide by your wisdom and the wisdom of Nadia. I would like to thank the Jedi Council for measuring me worthy of knighthood. I would like to thank Shira A'dola, Darth-Horax and Padawan4687. You all have helped me develop into a knight. There are others outside the order that tested me and helped me learn to be at peace even in conflict and I thank them.

I owe all of you for helping me on the path. I shall do the same that others have done for me. I am at the NJT's service. When you have need of me, call upon me, and I shall answer. I pledge my saber to always be used to bring peace and harmony.

A bit late on my part, but........

Congratulations, Kato. Though it was a short time, it was a pleasure training you. I hope that you will still turn to me with any questions that you may have, and I hope that I can always turn you in the right direction. Keep growing in the Force and you will one day be a great Master. I have no doubts that you will rise in the ranks quickly, but this is not a sign of power, but a sign of understanding and wisdom in what we are about in this temple, and that is unity, the power of we. Without each other we cannot accomplish as many things as we aim to. If anything, I leave you with this: always call on others for help when you are in need, never let yourself be full of pride and take on great tasks by yourself. We are a team here, and we should constantly be striving for this teamwork. :)

    Again, congratulations, Kato. :)
