Of course that shot only adds to the questions such as: How did they get the Falcon up and running fast enough to get away while the 1st Order is shooting up the place. Even in Star Wars, Chewie was already in the Falcon when the stormtroopers broke into the landing bay and Han slow them down long enough to get on board.

My wild guess is Poe had already been hiding in the Falcon when the fight started and during the attack got the old girl running.

 

I guarantee that Family Guy (and South Park) are going to have boatloads of fun doing gags about a Stormtrooper puking. Personally I think it's totally unnecessary to put in a Star Wars movie. This is a space opera/fantasy film, not Saving Private Ryan. But on the same token, it's what....a 5 second at most. It's not going to deter nor empower my experience/thoughts on the film.

maybe Rey is the one that savaged the Falcon and that as been fixing it for a while to get off the planet and unlike Luke/Anakin who had family and other circumstances keeping them on the planet, she's by herself.

maybe she didn't fly away because ... she doesn't know how? And if she had been fixing up, maybe she was contracted by someone to do the repairs or else she would have hidden it at her home in the ATAT:

Well if the Falcon was downed in the battle of Jakku did Han just leave it there without repaiting it?

If he did and Rey as scavenging the Star Destroyer then I would venture to guess she is repairing the Falcon.

If this is the case then maybe Rey isn't related to Skywalker\Solo lineage.

 

I do wonder how the Falcon is on Jakku but Han hasn't been in here in ages it seems.

I have doubts about Disney axing the Falcon from stories set between VI and VII only a year after VI.

I had speculated in the Rey thread that even if Rey is unrelated the fact that she has no family name could indicate that she'll eventually take Lukes to honor her mentor/father figure and to redeem his name in the Galaxy.

That is what I keep saying. No way do I see Han leaving the Falcon behind in a junkyard. I think Han had to give up the Falcon after he went looking for Rey/acting as a liaison between the underworld/resistance since it was too high profile. Personally I think he gave it Lando for safe keeping and this time, Lando did not bring it back "without a scratch".

 

I think that still is on the same planet as Rose's pub.

 

hope so, it's kinda sad that Celebration hyped R2 a bit but rumors indicate he's in only like 2 scenes and it would make sense that he would give his loyal friend something, otherwise why does BB-8 need the help of R2/3PO to crack a puzzle?
