Karen: I don't think that's right for RCTZ, actually: what lengths of year are you using?

I've taken my date system from the 'Cron. This is the standard system, like GMT with bells on. Many planets use local date systems, but this is the galactic one.

A standard year is 368 standard days,. not 365. So 367 days ABG is minus one day before the year (which is ten standard months) and 395 days ABG is one standard year and 27 days ABG.

Whole 10 months thing kinda flies in the face of all the 12 month years we've been getting as of late.

Well, the 10 month still exists in-universe, but 12 month has been more popular lately.

Then I take it that little segment with Dooku and Grievous sparring, and ending with Sidious talking to them occurred at the same time Anakin and Obi-Wan went to Nelvaan.

Possibly- I think it happens the same time it does in LOE. Same scene, I think.

They both overlap to some degree -- the scenes in Chapter 32 of Labyrinth, pp. 209-216 (Grievous's lightsaber kata before Dooku), and the events in strip 34 of Reversal of Fortune -- although on the very next page of the novel (217), Kenobi and Skywalker are still on Belderone tending to Fa'ale.

Very likely not chronologically contiguous, since in the earlier chapter Sidious was commanding Dooku and Grievous to trifurcate their forces, relocating Tyranus to Tythe.

I've just finished LoE, can someone post the short timeline of how LoE, the cartoon and RoF all fit together - in light of what we know in the NEC.

    Thanks.

I don't have a detailed one yet, but Mav or Leto might. I hope to start working on one as soon as I finish DL, TSW and RC:HC.

The first year of the Clone Wars on the galaxy map:

    Some chronological information:
The New Essential Chronology uses decimals in the dates (21.83, 21.66...). The Battle of Geonosis is placed exactly at 22 BBY, and ROTS is at 19 BBY. So 0.01 = 3.65 days, 0.83 = 3.65*83 days = 302.95 days (after the Battle of Geonosis) According to this, the first year of the war looks like this:
18 days after the Battle of Geonosis (DABG): The Hunt for the Decimator
37 DABG: The Dark Reaper Project
    62 DABG: Battle of Kamino
    73 DABG: Defense of Naboo
84 DABG: Battles of Teyr and Lianna
    91 DABG: Jedi Schism
    Raid on Pengalan IV
    110 DABG: Mission to Queyta
120 DABG: The Storm Fleet Destroyers
    The Fortress of Axion
    124 DABG: Battle of Muunilinst
    146 DABG: Battle of Brentaal
175 DABG: Defection on Nar Shaddaa
    179 DABG: Haruun Kal Crisis
    183 DABG: Assassination on Null
215 DABG: (this date conflicts with the 6 months 1 week after the Battle of Geonosis date (which is 189 DABG)) Devaronian Ruse
226 DABG: The Descent of Quinlan Vos
274 DABG: (The HNN date places this event at 274 DABG too.) The Bassadro Massacre
303 DABG: Rise of the Cortosis Battle Droids
329 DABG: The Death of Atraken
    365 DABG: The Spaarti Incident

Some notes on the 10/12-year calendars:

We know that the HoloNet News and the Galaxywide NewsNets use the 12-month calendar (37:11:27 from AJ12), but what about the old WEG dates like 38:9:35 (Secrets of the Sisar Run, page 93). There can't be 35 days in the ninth month... Are they simply incorrect?

I thought all months were made up of 7 weeks, with each week being made up of 5 days.

    Fun with numbers! ;)

After I get around to finishing Hard Contact (hopefully sometime before Triple Zero hits), maybe I can refactor my dates to accomodate any changes made by the NEC.

    Good luck with that! ;)

I will use the months as stated by the NEC in my timeline, but will still go by the original notations as established in the comics (or books for that matter). The NEC dating-system does not take into account that events stretch out over a period of time...

from TOS forums by Karen Traviss:

For the record: when I was writing Triple Zero, I was asked what calendar I was using and the ten-month one was pointed out to me. I rely on the Holocron and only the Holocron for my data; and that's what the 'Cron cites as the standard.

It makes sense to me that the GAR would use the Galactic Standard Calendar with "local time" added where needed, just as our own real military use Alpha and Zulu time zones. So until and unless Sue and Leland tell me specifically to use the Gregorian calendar, and the 'Cron changes, I shall use the ten-month one.

    Wow!!! :) :) :)

Yeah she brought that up when the timeframe of Triple Zero was brought up. So I gues sit means I'll have to convert RC:HC and RC:TZ dates to the 12 month calendar to fit the rest of the stuff- joy! ;)

From the Living Force Campaign site, several interesting, major developments:

And stemming out of the Dark Soul story (covered a few pages back in this same thread):

    • Dark Hope: Right after the complete destruction of the planet Kromus (in the Kro'eval system) by a Republic/Jedi fleet in pursuit of the CIS "Starkiller" weapon, Master Jeht's naval group is recalled to Coruscant, and General Jeht himself faces Palpatine in "justifying" his actions there.

The events of Dark Hope appear to follow very shortly after those of Dark Soul, which itself, again, very likely falls in the first year of the Clone Wars; during a period of Separatist superweapon-experimentation.

The Cularin secession, though, seems to come much, much later in the timeline, in part as a protest against Palpatine's increasingly-dictatorial martial law powers; this would place it roughly during the final couple of years of the conflict (21 or 20.5 - 19 BBY, perhaps, or thereabouts)...or no earlier than 16.75 Months ABG, when many of Palpatine's later "emergency" abilities were granted (in Republic #61).

"I am sorry, Cularin. You are on your own. Good luck."

I'm going to finish the Hard Contact entries next, as soon as I can find what I did with the book. I'll probably follow that up directly with Triple Zero entries, and proceed from there through the missing novels of Medstar, JT and YDR, with missing comic issues added at sporadic intervals through out that. The two most major adjustments/updates (NEC date revisements, LOE/CWv2/ROF) will be a bit further down the road but I'm hoping to get all of that done by the summer.

The source listings will definitely be updated sooner than all of that, though.

And thanks for those maps- those'll be useful.
