    It just naturally came to be, for myself.

    I played Aden Kya as a hot shot pilot in Wraith Squadron during the second Civil War, making him a Jensaarai, but he rapidly became a rival to @Adalia-Durron and her goodie two shoes Squadron. Evolving into a darksider undercover in the GA and based on Korriban, Darth Krayt was then invented and I had to accept that I had a master! Good fun.

    I later needed a foil for someone playing Darth Krayt, and so imported meaning to a character named Darth Insipid. He was my creation, but he rapidly became a twisted version of myself.

    Aden Kya was Darth Insipid’s expression. At which point Aden became Insipid, or Insipid could become Aden, I had no idea, but I know the Galactic Center RP with Addie and @ma_petite was birthed before the 128 ABY games.

    We’re talking 12 years ago, easily.

    So RP birthed him, more or less.

    Aden was never a lightsider. The Jensaarai held the trappings of Sith in a moral form, but it became rapidly clear that all morality was essentially hypocrisy...

    ... and thus something insipid.

    I got frustrated with the Jedi Trials and the people in it. Pretty much that alone is what started it. DarthKakarot barged into the Sith thread lightsaber blazing and was soundly slaughtered, and the Jedi pulled some ridiculous nonsense where they rescued him and put him back together. It seems dumb now but the lines between roleplaying and regular posting were a lot more blurry and the Jedi not playing by the rules was pretty offensive to a lot of people.
