Sounds like Obi-Wan better not slip and use the Force. The slave owner sounds like a real monster, plus it's quite a waste to beat his property to death merely for being Force sensitive.

    Hope Qui-Gon finds him soon.

I know. I can?t help myself. I just love putting Obi through the wringer.:p
More horror now. Lots of mush later. Well maybe. [face_whistling]
I am glad your enjoying it, my friend.[:D]

Lolly_TollySo I?d like to know where are you getting the credits from.[face_money_eyes] Did you rob a bank in Queensland.o_O
I did hear something on the news? [face_cowboy]

So you like my style! well perhaps I will kill him and surprise you.[face_mischief]
Maybe Obi finds a friend .... Nope No friend [face_not_talking]
Or... he gains favour! No one does him any favours:_|

And is given a chance to escape! No escape [face_shame_on_you]
Or... his Master goes back to Melida/Daan and Neild recognises him, and they track him down! I don?t think Neild is in the good books. They wont be talking to him any time soon![face_talk_hand]

I hope this has entertained you....It did;)

    Valairy_Scot
No it?s not good at all[face_worried]

If only Obi could escape and then have to rescue Qui-Gon. Now that?s a thought![face_liarliar]

Thanks I?m glad you liked it.[:D]

Whoa - that was really intense! I like intense[face_mischief]
I think slavers hate everyone but they definitely don?t like Jedi.[face_thinking]
    It could be an advantage.[face_idea]

How barbaric!!! You are so right, highly uncivilised and extremely cruel.
    Obi_Wan needs something. Perhaps a hug?[:D]

    p_stotts
Thank you Peggy, I have you to thank for it. [:D]

I?m explaining why he?s worried about using the Force in the next post. But in a nutshell he?s just plain scared that someone will find out he?s Force sensitive.[face_worried]

He is going to hide his connection and wait for the right time to use it, but first he has to build up his strength. Your right he is just a kid and Qui-Gon hasn?t shown him anything about the Force yet.

    Wouldn?t it be nice if the slave master got his comeuppance. But sometimes what we want doesn?t always come true?[face_not_talking] maybe.8-}

    Sorry it's a bit short, but it's a post....:D

    Chapter 6
    ooo

It had been two weeks, since Qui-Gon?s return to the Temple and he hadn?t slept much in that time. He spent every spare moment scanning the holo-net for any information concerning slavers. Especially, Zygerian?s. It became his obsession and even visiting his friend Tahl took second place to looking for Obi-Wan. She?d been released from the healers and her injuries were healed and when he saw how healthy she looked, his shame rose a notch. He could barely speak to her and although she tried to express her sympathy and offer him comfort, his guilt consumed him and he couldn?t bear to see the pity in her eyes.

The Jedi Council had authorised a search of known slave operations and they sent Jedi to the auction houses to search for Obi-Wan. Unfortunately, he?d not been in any of them. However, their searching did rid the galaxy of a few slave dealers and they rescued quite a few slaves. Nevertheless, it became apparent to the Jedi that slavery ran deep in the galaxy and their efforts to stop it and find Obi-Wan was an impossible mission.

Qui-Gon had been taken off mission status, because his emotional state was too unpredictable and the Council couldn?t risk losing him too. Nevertheless, every time the search teams came back to the Temple, Qui-Gon would greet them. Always in the hope that they?d found his Padawan and each time they came back without him, he would listlessly walk to the Garden of peace and tranquillity to meditate on his failings.

It was a beautiful garden filled with flowering shrubs and trees and it was a place to seek out the Force and reflect on one?s problems. Usually a state of mental calm and serenity could be achieved surrounded by such a peaceful place. The living Force was strong here and it was much quieter than the Room of a Thousand Fountains. There were no cascading waterfalls crashing over stones and disturbing the peace. There wasn?t the sound of laughter from young Padawan?s playing in the ponds and jumping into the water interrupting his meditations and in his misery. He couldn?t stand to hear the happy voices and the chatter of friends. However, here, in the undisturbed beauty of this garden of solitude he could spend his days in reflection, remembering his quiet, reserved and misunderstood Padawan.

    ooo

Mace was his good friend and sensed overwhelming guilt consuming him. Tahl had asked Mace to help Qui-Gon if he could. He knew a mutual friend of theirs that may be able to help Qui-Gon in his search. His name was Dex, he owned the local café, and they had known him for many years. He was a space trader in his youth and he still had contacts on various planets. Mace hoped that this would shake Qui-Gon out of his melancholy and entice him back into the land of the living. So he suggested that they go and speak to Dex. Mace felt Qui-Gon?s spirits lift when he made the suggestion and he eagerly went along with Mace to see their friend.

    ooo

?Qui-Gon! Mace! How are you my friends,? Dex said as a greeting. ?Where have you been, I?ve missed your company. Tell me Qui-Gon. Where is that new Padawan of yours? I thought he?d be standing in your shadow. Such a polite boy, but a bit skinny for my liking; you should bring him here more often, so I can fatten him up.?

Dex abruptly realised something was wrong when he noticed the pained expression fill his friend?s face with doom and gloom. Although Dex was fun loving and often cheeky, he knew when to stop talking.

?Dex, hello, we thought you might be able to help us, it?s about Qui-Gon?s Padawan. Obi-Wan has disappeared and we were hoping that with your connections, you might be able to help us find him??

?Disappeared, Oh dear, of course, I?ll do what I can. Come, sit down and tell me what?s happened??

Dex listened intently as they explained what had occurred and he noticed Qui-Gon flinch a few times when Mace told the morbid story.

?I can?t believe it! How could his friend do that to him?? Dex said shaking his head.

    ?I

Poor Qui! I feel so sorry for him, but everyone must face the consequences of their actions, and that also includes Obi-Wan. If he'd just gone with Qui-Gon or if Qui-Gon hadn't abandoned him, this wouldn't have happened. Now we have to wait for another wonderful post. I ask only one thing, Padawan...[face_praying] don't make you old master wait too long for the resolution. I don't know that my heart can take it. [face_whistling] Yeah, look who's talking. :D

Poor Qui...he didn't know what he had until it was gone. :( I know Mace is trying to be realistic, but he's not really helping the situation; it's almost like he's trying to talk Qui into giving up the search. Dex is a good friend; I hope he finds out about Obi-Wan's whereabous soon. [face_praying]

You're doing a fantastic job of torturing our favorite Jedi. :p Poor kid! I've read and enjoyed each and every post. Keep the good work! I can hardly wait to see how this gets resolved.

Thank you everyone@};- and now heres Chapter 7...

    ooo

Obi-Wan knelt on the floor at his Master?s feet. The ship was in the final approach to the landing platform and he didn?t dare move in case his Master beat him again. He?d already felt the cut of the whip across his shoulders because he?d tried to loosen the tight collar around his neck. It was uncomfortable and the metal ring holding the chain was rubbing the soft skin under his collar. He?d wiggled his fingers under it to move the ring, but his Master caught him touching it and punished him instantly and then he made sure Obi-Wan didn?t touch the collar again by pulling his arms behind his back and securing them with shackles.

The ramp opened and the oppressive heat of the planet rushed into the ship. A yank at Obi-Wan?s collar lifted him to his feet and he quickly took his place just behind his master. They stood at the top of the ramp, while the other slaves were herded out and taken to holding pens. Eventually they would be sent to different parts of the property to begin working in the mines or in the fields harvesting the crops. It took a while for the slaves to be sorted and Obi-Wan?s bare feet started to burn from the heat of the steel ramp under them. He was afraid to move and he was afraid to call on the Force to cool his feet.

After seeing that man beaten to death for using the Force, Obi-Wan wasn?t sure if it was safe to call on it for comfort. In his time at the temple all initiates learned the basics and fundamental knowledge of the Force. However, it was during their apprenticeship when their education advanced into specifics. Their skills were honed by their Masters, who in forming a bond with them helped them sharpen their Force abilities and enhanced their mental shields. He hadn?t been apprenticed to Qui-Gon long enough to know whether he was broadcasting his connection to the Force or not and he wasn?t sure if his new master could sense it. In some ways, the Force was still a mystery to him. It was something he?d always had and he was still learning to understand it. Even Master Yoda told him that the mysteries of the Force took many years to comprehend and when he was in the Temple, he got the impression that the Masters always knew what he was thinking.

Therefore, he suffered the heat in silence and while his Master was busy giving orders to his men, Obi-Wan glanced around. The compound was surrounded by a high fence and in front of him was a large outbuilding. There was an arena about twenty metres away with a high fence and a wire roof on it and on the other side of the landing platform was a large house. It looked like a mansion fit for a King; it was two stories high and had

    ooo

With renewed vigour, Qui-Gon kept Obi-Wan in his thoughts. He told the council that he?d never take another apprentice and if they didn?t agree with his decision he?d leave the Jedi order. Of course, they accepted his decision reluctantly and they didn?t mention it again. He continued to visit the garden and he called on the force to give him a sign. It had been three years since he?d been taken and Qui-Gon couldn?t help thinking about all the possibilities of what might be happening to Obi-Wan. His mind conjured up images of beatings, of pain and suffering, and worse. He came out of his mediations in a cold sweat. He didn?t want to think of all the possible scenarios. He wiped his brow just as his com-unit buzzed.

?Jinn here!? he said, frustration filling him. He?d just arrived back from his latest mission. Couldn?t they give him five minutes peace!

?Qui-Gon, the council requests your presence for a mission briefing. I know you?ve just arrived back, but we need a Master who doesn?t have a Padawan. This is an undercover operation.? Mace explained.

?I?m on my way Mace,? he said, and then thinking to himself, I do have a padawan. I just can?t find him.

Qui-Gon stood in the middle of the council chambers while a request from the senate was discussed. The ruler of a small planet called Aniston wanted to join the republic. Aniston was a planet divided into three landmasses and each one was separated by vast oceans.

Nullawil, the largest country was ruled by King Deakin. His country supplied medicines, steel, farming equipment and tools from their factories to the other two countries. The second continent Canellas was governed by an elected council and Prime Minister who was appointed by King Deakin. It was a farming country and supplied dairy products and clothing that was sold across the planet.

The third country, Bindley was the one blocking the planets ascension to the republic. It was controlled by a Business Cartel under the rule of a General Gerota. Originally, the Senate were handling the signing of the treaty and it seemed like a routine proposal. However, it became apparent that General Gerota was refusing to sign the treaty. Relations between the countries became volatile and the Senate determined that Jedi intervention was necessary to protect the King from the General who was the self-proclaimed ruler of Bindley.

?The business cartel, what sort of business is it?? Qui-Gon asked sensing a long drawn out m
