Very cool! Be careful where you carry those things or you could wind up like (who was it, Chewbracca?) who had a sandperson costume, complete with rifle, and, when pulled over by the cops, had a heck of a time explaining it. Is his complete post on that subject in the Rendevous forum?

Japanese Version of Paintball. Guns that are 1/1 scale look like the real thing but shoot 6mm plastic bbs. Some are spring powered, but the good ones are gas powered and electric powered. I use to play it a while ago

And you shoot people with these?

    Sounds painful.

its only painful if you get shot point blank on the skin. I usually don't even feel it on clothing, although I have a scar from the last time I got shot on my arm. Hurts less than paintball IMO.

We were talking about Mandalorian Armor at the Big Scoop and I brought up the "trash can armor" idea. Here is the link:

That's cool. I'll have to book mark that.

When you said trash can I immediately thought Oscar the Bounty Hunter.

Hey, just a thought. On Highland Street near the U of M there is a library with a big meeting room upstairs. We've had a few MSCA Quarterly Meetings there in the past. Could be a place to meet for costuming (center of the city, easy to get to from all around) or game nights if all else fails.

And if we are lucky, we might see the Highland Bigfoot (Joe swears he saw him when we were on Highland.)

I think that would be a good idea too. When my classes are over, I would be happy to join.

That sounds like it would be cool.

Should I bring the 8mm Brownie camera so we can capture the Bigfoot on film?

Okay but remember, the picture has to be fuzzy.

Anybody have any idea where I can buy bulk polystyrene microbeads?

This was posted on the costume thread and I just had to share. The patterns look pretty good. I'll have to see if there are in Mempihs yet. Now I just need to get my sewing machine fixed.

Quite a few of the patterns are available at Walmart and are generally around half the price printed on the envelope. I know I have a couple of these. If not now, when halloween rolls around they will get more.

Lin and I have some film footage already. Lin and I chased him down to get it. Lin and I are horrible, horrible people!!

Since then, though, I've not seen him again. Not that it matters anymore. The thrill of the chase is over now that we have photos, so I can move on and stalk someone else now.

So, uh, Tim: What are the directions to your job, your work number, your...

I've heard some of the people in the costuming forum say that JoAnn's is good. Too bad they don't have a store in Memphis.

I don't know of any others.

I like denverfabrics.com, they have a big selection... I've used them several times before and they've always been good.
I've only used syfabrics.com once, but they have some nice stuff, too!

I wish we had a Joanns locally, too... just to have some other option than Hancock all the time.. (mostly because stupid Hancock decided yellow is not popular this season when I needed 3 different fancy yellow fabrics... it was like pulling teeth finding what I needed, I ended up having to order one of them from denverfabrics!)
