    I love Spook Louder.

-"How to make friends and keep 'em. Four volumes."

    -"An octopus! Look out!."

-"Why don't we come back at twelve o'clock and hear the whole song."

"Disorder in the court" is one of the best. Curly:Well you see me and my pals we're musicians, that night we were tearin' up some hot swing music in the orchestra,Gaily over there was swingin' her fans, her sweetie Kirk Robin was inhalin' a bottle o' hooch at a table, and a hoofer by the name o' Buck Wing was gettin' ready ta shake his tootsies."

I love when the Stooges use whitty dialogue. Even the words they create on their own...like when they mix a drink, or operate on somebody. It's great. The words don't make any sense what-so-ever. And then there's Moe doing his impersonation of Hitler and speaking his German jibberish. That gets me every time. [face_laugh]

The stooges parodied Hitler in more than a few shorts, most notably "You nazty spy" and its sequel "I'll never heil again" (Moronica for morons!)

--Larry: "That's it! I'm gettin' outta this business! It's enough to drive a man to drink."
--Moe: "Drink... That's it! We're goin' into the saloon business."
    --Curly: "Saloon?"
    --Moe: "Yeah, saloon. S-A-L-U-N-E.
--Curly: "You don't even know how to spell saloon. Any sap knows you spell saloon with a `C`."

Great! Thanks, Gobi. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Forgot to mention this the first time: Has anyone seen the "Inspector Gadget" remake? Well, when Penny is going into Gadget's hospital room, you hear "Paging Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard."! I practically jumped out of my seat when I heard that!

I've never liked their full-length movies quite as much as their shorts (They're still funny, but not as funny), except "The Outlaws Is Coming" with Adam West.

Curly-Joe DeRita wasn't as good as Curly or Shemp. That's why the movies aren't as good as the shorts.....

I think Curly Joe was still much better than Joe Besser.

Anybody remember the one with Larry, Moe and Joe where they play three sets of triplets. There's one scene where all "nine" stooges are in the room and you can see that a few of the look a likes that don't look very much like them. [face_laugh]

Gobi - I've only seen three or four Joe Besser shorts... I don't think I've ever seen the one you're talking about.

I always find it amusing when they use a dummy for stunts, and yet Curly's dummy usually has hair... :p

Curly or Shemp? I think it's an apples-to- oranges kind of thing. They were both great and each had his own style.I think most people think of the "classic" Three Stooges lineup as Moe,Larry, and Curly. But Shemp was the original third Stooge before deciding to go solo, thereby bringing in Curly. But when Curly fell ill Shemp returned.I've always been a big Curly fan,but I've always liked Shemp alot, too.I love it when Shemp gets smacked and his hair hangs down over his face. And the sounds he made-"Heep,Heep,Heep"-"Whoa,Whoahohohoho!"

I consider Curly and Shemp to be equals I can't pick one over the other. All you Shemp fans need to check out some of the earlier Abbott and Costello films Shemp was in a lot of them. :D

There's also a DVD called THREE STOOGES-THE EARLY YEARS that features a few early shorts starring Shemp without the other stooges. One of them has Shemp paired with Jack Haley, the tinman from Wizard of Oz.

Curly's definately the best. He talks funny, acts funny and even looks funny. I think Curly is the perfect example of the word "Stooge".
