Shooter was apparently a disgruntled municipal government employee and was killed by the police.

    CNN.

I heard he was an engineer in the utilities department.

I’m glad we haven’t gotten a name or picture yet. I hope it’s handled the way the UNC Charlotte shooting was handled, with a repetition of the names of the victims far more than the shooter.

The man was instrumental in sweeping Iran-Contra under the rug. He has always been a Republican psychopath.

It doesn't sound like he's trying to suck up, he sounds like a true believer in Trump/conservative agenda. Which, yeah, is kind of scary. Like even with Sessions (or many other former cabinet members) you could at least count on him being self-serving rather than sacrificing himself for Trump.

Not that what's he saying is all that new. He just sounds like a slightly more coherent Giulani. He's doing a great job as a Trump spokesman, oh wait, he was supposed to be AG, right?

Comey had another editorial in the last few days, not that I like him much either. He brought up how the FBI was obviously pro-Trump, but not like reality slows down Trump apologists (or Trump himself).

CNN article from yesterday said the police stated they would name the shooter once and thereafter would not refer to him by name.

A good time for the phrase: He Who Must Not Be Named.

Don't give these scumbags any attention.

Of course, if he had been taken alive, he probably would be referred to by name unless there weren't any plans to cover his trial.

And of course they stand with white supremacists. It is the Nazi network, after all.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2019/05/31/media/laura-ingraham-paul-nehlen-extremists/index.html

New York (CNN Business)Fox News on Friday afternoon stood by Laura Ingraham after she defended a white supremacist and several other fringe people who have been banned or disciplined by large social media companies.

Ingraham's defense of the extremists on her prime time Fox show "The Ingraham Angle" came during a segment on Thursday about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's criticism of Facebook for not removing a video doctored to make it appear she was drunk and slurring her words.

UK news is full of Trump & family's impending visit. One paper mentioned the Trump balloon might be flying again.

At this point, I hope it is a small fleet of balloons. Also curious to see if Prince Harry suddenly takes ill at any point given Trump insulted his wife...

Well Meghan already wasn't supposed to be at any functions - reason given is 'maternity leave' - so her absence has been explained.

It's only fitting that it does since both his balloon and Trump are full of hot air. :p

Trump tried to throw The Sun under the bus again by denying he said anything about her.

Just as before, when Trump denied making comments about Theresa May to the same paper, The Sun posted the unaltered recording of the interview online to prove that Trump actually spoke ****.

You know you're a garbage person when you end up making one of the red-top tabloids look like a bastion of journalistic integrity. That having been said, I don't think in Trump's tiny, little mind that he was trying to insult anyone. It's no secret that, while full of hot air, Trump isn't good with the words that spill forth from his maw. It seems that he just briefly griped about learning that Meghan Markle was "Nasty [about him]" because Trump's ego is so delicate that he can never just overlook criticism of himself, which is also why The Sun even bothered mentioning it to him, they were stirring the pot for a negative reaction to run with. But he quickly went on to compliment her and say that she would do an amazing job as a princess (What ever the **** that means), which just isn't something he does when he talks about someone that he meant to insult.

Frankly, I'm less worried about what Trump has to say about what a member of the royal family, or what they think about him, and I'm worried that the sensationalist drama is leading to lede being buried. We should be talking about the fact that it looks like he's insisting on America buying a stake in the NHS in any post-Brexit deal.

Yeah like Pelosi would ever go for that. Of course, Herr Trump can simply declare that an NHS which hasn’t been bought by the US is a national security risk and allocate the funds anyway. It’s not like the Senate or Supreme Court is going to stop him.

Honestly I'v always tended to have the view that Trump's vainglorious big mouth if not an act is perhaps something that's deployed in a calculated fashion because as you say its a good way of burying more significant issues.

I think you see in Trumps positivity for no deal Brexit the reality that this will clearly put the UK in a weak position in negotiations with the US. I'm guessing one of the key issues as well may well be breaking up the NHS as a mass buyer of farma products that allows it to get lower prices for many US sellers.

You are talking about someone who re-arranged a military formation because he wasn’t emotionally mature enough to deal with the possibility that for one second he might look out the window and see the name of a dead man he personally disliked.

There is no act. There’s no deeper thought. He’s an idiot and the things he does are destructive in a “bull in the China shop” blundering sort of sense.

I don't think there's an act but I wouldn't be surprised if Trump's political advisors don't look to reign in such outbursts because they view them as favourable.

Beyond distraction I suspect they take a view along the lines of Bush not being a great public specker than this(and the reaction to it) plays well with a lot of his support.

I just saw the new episode of Letterman's Netflix show. He had Kanye on. Now I understand his focus on Trump, and I hate him even more. He is such an idiot. No wonder he married a Kardashian.

Basically, since he's so counter-culture, counter whatever is the norm in society, he's angry that liberals bully Trump supporters and won't let them talk about what they like about Trump. He compares Trump supporters to geeks who got punched in the face by bullies in high school. He thinks in a way as if all of us don't like Trump the way sometimes you look at a person you've never met and you just dislike the person by just looking at him or her. In other words, he thinks that our anger has no point, its not based on anything Trump has said or done. We just don't like him because he's orange.

He is so stupid. I recognize the guy is a talented artist and a true original, but I really don't care for him one bit. He's in a bubble, his own world, and like Trump, he either doesn't know, or knows and refuses to recognize that there's a different reality out there than his own.

I don’t trust anyone who is adamantly opposed to reading books, so Kanye could tell me the sky is blue and I would still go outside to check.

I'm pretty sure he thinks he's living inside the Matrix and he just has to go against everything. He must be a huge conspiracy theorist, like Jesse Ventura level of insane.

So they're gonna leave the EU, possibly reignite issues in Ireland, maybe make the push for Scottish independence stronger, and on top of that, become a vassal state of Trump's America.
