It’s inevitable. As is the origin of the Old Spice movie, wherein we learn that the Dune universe is the GFFA during the Old Republic era. The crossover synergies are too spicy to resist.

 

I love a Trilogy or 9 part saga that covers the 100 year war that ends with the birth of the sith. 4000 years before Bane and 5000 years before Anakin. Think a full scale war that last a century. Generations of Jedi and soldiers fighting an endless war. Would the Mandalorians get involved or is it just a Jedi Civil war?

I think you get criminal Syndicates like hutts involved, by the time of this war the Jedi Order would have been around for 20 000 years. Witches could be involved, maybe last of the Rakata and Zeffo. And this before the jedi temple was built on Corucant. So maybe more forest.

 

It's a shame they didn't whistle the Old Spice jingle as the main theme for Dune.

Interesting idea! I don't think ROTS will be in theaters until the 25th anniversary in 2030, though.

 

"Shōgun" star Hiroyuki Sanada says he's a big #StarWars. Where could you see him appear in or be stat off. Let him be our First Jedi. Star Wars takes from Japanese culture and others. Let have him be in his later years and discover the force after having a family.

 

I think this would be a very fresh approach. I like it.

 

It could also help explain why jedi dont have family. Like if the movie ask us the question does he save his family or everyone else. Give us real time event that better help why jedi dont have family relationships or get married. Maybe he must seperate contact from his family and create a new family in the Jedi religion. And if its biblical epic does he get a message from god in a cave that tells him to build a religious order?

The idea of a middle-aged man, or even older, being the first person ever to "hear" the Force is such a strong twist I'll be disappointed if it doesn't happen. So thanks, I'm going to be disappointed now no matter what.

Yeah, I now demand that Lucasfilm do this. No need for this to be another late teens/ early twenties character story. Give us a world-weary, older protagonist that finds the force. I’d even support having an elderly actor in that role. Bring in one of the greats. Hellen Mirren, Ian McKellen, Ciaran Hinds…

 

I mean, if Biblical epic is the inspiration here, then an older Moses like character isn't out of bounds at all.

Take a story where the galaxy is enslaved to ruthless dark sider overlords. Then one of them - middle aged or whatever - realizes he's not really one of them, or rebels against them, and sides with the slaves. And while he understands that the dark side exists, he hears for the first time the Whill of the Force and it's true nature. He then leads his people to freedom.

 

I fully expect kyber/kyber crystals to factor heavily into the story of the Jedi origins. Bad guys want kyber to make weapons. Good guys learn to replace their vulnerable swords with kyber-generated lightsabers. Both want kyber to help with newly invented space travel. Etc.

 

Old people? It’ll be like Cocoon. 110 minutes of unbearable cringe.
