The worst character isn't Jar Jar. It is Boss Nass!

I just kept wondering how the hell Earl Sinclair managed to get himself elected ruler of an entire alien species.

I like both of them. I am referring to Jar Jar and Boss Nass. Nether one was annoying or horrible looking/speaking. In fact I wished that they put more Jar Jar in Attack of the Clones. George should never have been persuaded by whiny fan boys who do nothing but complain.

 

Magellan- Earl Sinclair was the father dinosaur on the series Dinosaurs which aired in the early 1990s. He has more than a passing resemblance to Boss Nass.

 

Yup. TPM is showing what would have happened if Earl had one that presidential race.

I agree though, that Boss Nass bugged me a lot more than Jar Jar did.

Loud, obnoxious, rude, and yet so irresistibly cute. I'd rather have the Baby in TPM than Jar Jar.

What is weird about their family (the Dinosaurs) which is also seen in the Munsters family is that the offspring are a different race then the parents?

I think Boss Nass is the worst char. in the entire saga. I don't mind Jar Jar much at all, but Nass pisses me off.

I was so excited for Brian Blessed in a SW film and that's what we ended up with?

No, Ric Olie is the worst. Everything he says is so dramatic!!! I can't stand that guy!!!! Every sentence he utters has to be an exclamation!!!

Boss Nass's blubbering was annoying.

I actually like Jar Jar.

 

Boss Nass, IMO, was worse than Jar-Jar.

But the worst is definately Ben Quadrinaros or whatever. The CGI was horrible on that character.

I thought Sebulba looks great.

 

OK but Boss Nass is a minor character and Jar Jar dominates the whole movie. That is why Jar Jar is so much more objectionable.

 

It isn't the character of Boss Nass so much as it is his placememnt in the story. He pops up right at the beginning and right at the end. They give him the freakin' award for crying out loud! And then....poof! He's gone! Never heard from again. You mean they can bring back Watto, who's story arc was completed in Ep. 1 but couldn't find anything for Boss Nass to do in Ep. 2 who's story arc was left wide open? He could've been a senator along with Jar Jar or something. It seems like a character created for no reason, really. A lot of what Boss Nass did could've been handed down to Cpt. Tarpels or something.
The main problem I find with Ep. 1 is there are too many loose characters running around that don't serve any story purpose.
And doesn't Boss Nass come a little too close to what Jabba was? What was he? The GOOD version of Jabba? Knowing Lucas, probably was.

I hate Boss Nass. I think the way he talks is extremely annoying, I think his CGI is very lackluster (just watch how he jumps off the beast during the parade at the end), and it took me forever to understand what all he had to say. I was scrambling for the subtitles when the DVD came out for certain lines from both he and JarJar! Why does the Big Boss Nass blubber and slobber in irritation when he has to let JarJar go with Qui-Gon? Afterall, he was being influenced by the Force, it shouldn't have irritated him. Then, later in the film he blubbers and slobbers again, only this time he is happy because he has made peace with Queen Amidala! What gives? Why does he do this ultra irritating and dumb reaction to exhibit both irritation and happiness? Then there is the fact that he clicks like a weird frog in his first scenes in Otta Gunga, but never does again later in the movie.

A good deal of the pod racers looked very fake and stupidly designed, but Quadrinaros was the worst of the bunch, looking like a plastic childs toy or puppet! They (ILM) really only put effort into Watto, JarJar and Sebulba because they were actual characters!
