Today, they just announced the discovery of HD1, the most distant galaxy in the observable universe. I know this may sound silly, but I love astronomy and since the universe contains 100 million galaxies, putting the Star Wars galaxy in the universe is not as far-Fetch'd as it may sound. I originally always thought that the Star Wars galaxy was Pegasus Dwarf Irregular as it is 3 million light years away from us, and I take this from the tagline of E.T. E.T. aliens were spotted in the Galactic Senate, and it possibly canonizes our galaxy but I think Pegasus Dwarf Irregular is too close to us and if it was the Star Wars galaxy, we would see all the teeming life through technosignatures. It has to be much further away. I plan on buying myself a telescope for my birthday and I would love to pretend that a galaxy I may see is the Star Wars galaxy. Does anybody better than astronomy than me have any ideas for candidates of the Star Wars galaxy?

Realistically, it would have to be a galaxy where the laws of physics work differently, so maybe in a parallel universe.

and one where they have NZ/Aussie accents. Without taking you out of the whole 'this is supposed to be set far far away' aspect.
