Did you not watch the last series?

Thought it was okish episode personally, not happy how they seem to think there's something between Gwen and Cpt Jack when he kept telling her to stay with her boyfriend in the last series. Would have liked to learn a bit more about the Time Agency than just having Cpt Jack and John bickering like a old married couple. Also what the hell did John say at the end before he left?

    He found "Graham/Gray/something similar sounding".

Was an OK episode. I thought Marsters brought a lot of fun to the show. The only bits that got me were annoyed were the usual suspects.

Thought Marsters was the best thin in it tonight. Ok episode, but its only the start. From the looks of it this season will be pretty good.

And I dont get why everyone moans about it being like 'queer as folk' or some such show. Its exactly the same as if Marsters character had been a woman jack (or nay character ever) had been out with in the past and had a wild history with.

Same with the scene when jack ask ianto out. Could of been 2 women, 2 men or a mix for all I care, if i was the director/writer I would of played both scenes exactly the same.

I didn't watch it, but going on last series I would say people go on that because they are shoe horning sex into something to make it seem adult, and even more so if you have everyone screwing everyone. Most of it would of been excatly the same if was female/man, and that is terrible. How this got a second series I don't know. Swearing isn't grown up if it is just done to appear grown up, and neither is sex, it came across as more juvenile then Dr Who.

I liked it, it was fun and I was laughing a lot. And yes, it was at the intential jokes.

    Loved:
1)Little old lady knowing who TORCHWOOD are, they are the least secret secret organisation in the world.
2)Captain John. Is he going to kill ya? Is he going to kiss ya? granted the kissing could lead to killing, but you still never know what he's going to do. But I thought he was brilliant, especially the "I was a good wife", and the obvious but nevertheless hilarious "Help me Obi-Wan" bit. James Marsters, I am in love with you all over again.
3)Ianto getting asked out by Jack, I thought it was awkwardly sweet. Am I the only perosn who thinks they're adorable?
    4)Just general fun and stuff.

Preview full of juicy goodness. That guy who said somehting about killing to Jack looked familier. Also, Captain John will return, WOOO! Also, Alan Dale looks appropriately creepy. Is he experimenting on Martha? Gasps a plenty.

Yeah some moments were off, and the last minute save was always going to happen, as John said. Oh, and Gwen, don't marry your boyfriend if you don't love him. Either work on your relationship issues and appreciate him, or leave him.

I found it rather funny, and a shed load better than the last series. I want James' boots and coat, possibly his sword too. Heck just put him in a box for me and I'll be happy.

I loved it when Captain John said 'help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope' in that message to Captain Jack. :D

I had hoped that this season would have done away with the overt sexual overtones but within seconds I was deeply dissapointed! Does anyone else think this stuff would be in the show if RTD wasn't gay? I don't think so, I get the impression he is on some sort of crusade. A friend of mine who is gay even feels that the themes are overly used and stereotypical!

RTD suffers from being the type of gay man who doesn't feel that gay relationships are present enough on national television, so he insists on going on some sort of crusade like some 12th Century European off to the Holy Land. Much as I'm thankful to him for bringing back Dr Who, the sooner he leaves his shows in the hands of someone more capable and less gay the better. He can neither direct not write and should just vamoose.

Agreed. He's pushing a gay agenda, and it's turning the fans off.

Perhaps if there was an equal amount of female/female relationships as there are male/male there would be more fans...

Maybe if they wasn't shoe horning a plot into some sub standard porn it would help

    I wouldn't even call it porn.........yet

I thought it was an improvement on the last series. James Masters was very good and the cast seemed more at ease with themselves. The jokes were a little flat and the gay stuff was obvious, but it's part of Jack's character. But it often seems out of place and random and as though it was put in there for the hell of it.

I've nothing against same-sex relationships as long as they are tastefully done and important in the progression of the story.

The action was limited in this, but it was at least funnier, I did like the old lady bit at the beginning. Having a group that everyone knows may be better then operating in secret.

I managed to watch it yesterday afternoon and I quite enjoyed it. James Masters character added a great deal to the show and looked like he was enjoying himself, and I thought the episode's story was just about enough to drive it through the 50 mins.
Series one was hit and miss, and while I suspect this will be the same I do believe and hope it'll be more hit then miss.

I do agree they really need to tone down on the whole sex aspect of it, whether it's the homosexual, bisexual or heterosexual stuff. Mr Davies seems to think it's still a great taboo of the world but it isn't anymore. Maybe 10-15 years ago, but times have changed but he is obviously stuck in another era still. Every member of the Torchwood team has had a fling with at least one other member, and it's a bit too much, cheap and silly.

February SFX has an On-Set article about the show. One thing it shows is that:

In the show they bill as episode 9 Gwen is heavily pregnant. In the same episode her wedding dress is shown hanging up ready to wear.

What a load of turd! It was like watching Gaytime TV (or I'm guessing thats what its like) and it was alot worse than last series with the queer stuff. If it keeps up like that then watch its rating fall drastically and then axed. How anyone liked that is beyond me- probably feel they have to say they like it! And the story line was crud! The only bit that caught my interest was teh Obi Wan reference. Get rid of the queer rubbish and get some decent storylines.

Agreed! The gay stuff needs to be trimmed down extensively. The entire cast has had some fling with another member of the same sex and it's just unbelieveable.

The supposedly adult aspects of the show to also be trimmed. It's got to a stage where it's nothing more that a cheap gimmick and not a particularly effective one. If they can stop it feeling forced, it might work but until then it will continue to impact on what has the potential to be a good show.
