We just had an intruder (Yes, I'm a coward)

Well, this is what happened an hour ago guys (and gals)

I was lying in bed (Yes, at 11:55!), and I can hear the front door open. I didn't know if my housemate had returned, or whether she'd left the foor unlocked and it was a friend of mine coming round

Anyway, I hear this rustling downstairs, and I start to panic a bit, so I do the only brave thing I can and hide under the duvet

Anyway, for about 4 mins, I can hear him rustling around downstairs (I could tell it was a he), and then he comes upstairs, where peering through the duvet, I can see his legs (getting a bit scared at this point). he wanders around for a minute or so and then leaves.

10 mins later, I get up. Check outside the window and see nothing, and so go downstairs to check the door. It is locked.

So this bloke obviously had a key

Now, the house is up for sale, and the estate agents have a key, and as far as I know, that's the only other key. So I email my housemate to find out if the estate agents have been authorised to enter the property today (we're not moving out till Jan 31). She rings the estate agents and says that the bloke was a surveyor, and they've known for 3 days that he's coming round, but they've been too busy to tell us!!!

So, although it's sorted (however unsatisfactory - and believe me, the agents haven't heard the last of this), I am curious as to what happens next

I assume the bloke had a key so that he could enter the property and survey the house whether anyone was in or not. Now he didn't know I was there, and yet he managed to survey the whole house in under 5 mins without even coming into the main bedroom or ensuite bathroom. Now that's an efficient surveyor!

 

he'll probably charge you a few grand for that

I used to sleep with a nice 9 iron beside my bed just in case that sort of thing happened. I was terrified of being burgled

 

I had my hockey stick beside my bed for years when I lived at home with my Mum.

I used to have a baseball bat at the side of my bed. I got rid of it after I whacked a spider with it rather hard.



The spider was on my leg at the time you see.

I don't blame you for hiding. We've all watched enough slasher movies to know not to go investigating noises downstairs.

Though I do reckon you shoulda risen up from under the duvet and boomed in a loud voice, "HOW RUDE" @ some point.

 

At least it was warm (I'd had the elctric blanket on all night)

Jimson, on hearing someone enter the house and poke around, would have teared downstairs and laid into said intruder with the fire poker.

 

Is it just me? Or is anyone else disturbed by the fact that Luci thinks that H from Stepps might break into his house to "get" him?
