WE REALLY HOPE YOU LOVE PIZZA (and also *not* having access to the forums)

With Xenforo upgrading to a platform which no longer supports many of our current home's features, it is time for another PIZZA RUN.

That's right. We're moving. Again. If you were a member of our community in 2011/2012, you probably continue to suffer PTSD at the memory of how long the forums were down. Fear not! Once everything is in place and we have to flicker the On/Off switch, we are anticipating the upcoming blackout period to only be a matter of hours. Previously, it was a transfer from an entirely different base over to Xenforo (which caused the extended lag) and many of our specific features were not standard and so had to be created, written and then applied. This time, we are staying on the same platform and just "moving" everything in pretty much the same manner as those legends, George and Weezie Jefferson... moving on up.

We are nowhere near the point of the actual transfer/upgrade and the Admins will update you as we draw nearer to the event. In the meantime, we have some immediate information that would be fruitful to disseminate to you all.

I am working with all involved while also having the designated role of falling on swords if so required.

Throughout the summer, leading to The Move: The Sequel, @GrandAdmiralJello will be tasked with pitilessly adjudicating forum drama so that we can focus on code and program drama.

We are all available to answer as many questions as we are able and to provide updates. But we fully expect you will receive the majority of your answers and updates from @jcgoble3

When we have a date in sight, we will give as much advance warning as possible, including banners in the main header. We are planning this with many of your subforums' contests, ongoing RPGs and other such scheduled activities in mind and will make the effort to not disrupt too many such temporary/special forum events.

Again, we truly anticipate the forums only being inaccessible for a matter of hours (possibly even up to the 24-48 hr range). So, we will probably be down for 7 months.

It's also a fine promise of the software upgrade. The original "Sorry! The Admins are on a pizza run!" image which tormented people hoping to log on for months on end was a flat image. Now we have the capability to demolish the hopes and dreams of people wanting to post on an absent website with cutting edge animated gifs.

Nah this won't be like The Move™. This is more of a Shift. It'll still require tons of work and will render the boards unusable, but The Move™ took a literal half year, this will take half a day. So you still won't get to experience the nigh-unending heartbreak and torment we suffered through during The Move™, and thus won't procure cherished memories like the ones we have from back then. nanna nanna boo boo
