Someone using Google satellite maps to explore AREA51

(there's so many of these things out there, people using google satellite maps to look at everyone and everything - its a wonder the US government hasn't closed it down yet ...)

 

The reason it hasn't been closed down is that you really can't see anything. there is no data past a level 4 zoom that doesn't already reveal everything shown when an image of Area 51 was leaked onto the net sometime in 1998, claiming to have been taken by a Russian Satelite some years before...

 

Well, I wasn't just referring to AREA51, but to the fact that even at that low magnification, it still gives anyone anywhere in the world access to satellite surveilance of any location in the US.

Then again, give it some time.

 

I think it'd be more of an issue if it were real time, but I do see your point, it gives easy access to photographic maps, if you were planning anything

type "failure" into googlw and observe the first 2 links...

 

Type "where in the world is Carmen Sandiego" into google. It even knows the answer to that!

 

For a while you could type "Paris Hilton isnt a [insert derogatory term of your choice here]" into Google and it would come up with a great suggestion, but nowadays all you get is results telling you about the Google suggestion.
