Saga What are the Worst Theories you've heard?

I've heard some pretty bad theories over the years. Especially about Snoke right after The Force Awakens. (I also remember someone saying that Kylo and Darth Revan were connected somehow?)

What are some theories you've heard that are just so far out there or too ridiculous to be true?

Ezra is Snoke was the theory I remember the most from the ST

I mentioned this recently elsewhere, but the whole "Finn is Lando's son" thing was pretty bad.

Also, the recent rush to identify who the "spies" were in Mando S3 was kinda funny. Some of the resulting theories weren't terrible (my favourite was that the Armorer would turn out to be a baddie, and a member of the House of Wren, leading into Sabine's starring role in the Ahsoka show) but the fact that it all sprang from a misinterpretation of an episode title made me laugh.

 

That Disney knew what they were doing making Star Wars movies?

 

Darth Jar Jar is still the most ridiculous (yet funny) theory ever. Lol.

 

I remember those days. It was fueled by the fact that no actor was credited as playing Darth Sidious in the first two movies - because, of course, Sidious was the same character as Palpatine. The Episode 1 Insider's Guide CD from LucasArts did accidentally mention in one place that Ian McDiarmid played Sidious, though, which otherwise wasn't officially confirmed even though it was incredibly obvious.

 

After TFA, throughout TLJ and in the build up to TROS there was a crazy rumour that Rey was a Palpatine.

 

That’s why I rolled my eyes in the theatre. It’s like JJ wrote the movie from Twitter

 

Some of the Snoke theories back in the days leading up to TLJ were wild. Apparently he was, and not limited to:

• Sifo-Dyas
• Qui-Gon Jinn
• Mace Windu
• The REAL Anakin Skywalker (the one we see in the OT is actually a mutated clone, guys, trust me)
• Anakin's twin brother
• The Son from TCW
• Vitiate from SWTOR
• The youngling that said, "Master Skywalker, there are too many of them..."

Damn shame that my Snoke is Darth Jar Jar theory didn't come true, though. I wanted one thing!

 

The infamous one where Artoo had a hidden camera that was transmitting to Palpatine and that's how he knew that Anakin and Padme were married.

It was mostly because they felt that it was so obvious that there had to be a twist because the OT had two. The other versions were that Palpatine was a clone of Sidious and Palpatine was a vampire ingesting Midichlorians from Jedi.

 

Wait, what the...?! I've never heard that one before! Please tell me it was never serious...?!

 

I think Mark Hamill started that one back in the 1980s when he was joking around about the rather hackneyed nature of the family reveals on the OT. "Vader's my father? Sure, and Boba Fett's my mother," or something like that.

 

I came here just to post that.

I remember rewatching The Phantom Menace and liveblogging it to some friends and being like... my God, I can't believe anybody ever believed Darth Sidious wasn't Palpatine. The Palpatine theme literally starts playing the second he first appears in hologram.

I talked to someone who swore up and down JJ Abrams was going to include flying pigs in The Force Awakens.

 

Well, there were jet pack troopers in the TROS.

I agree about the Snoke theories...there was a wildly wide range there! There were a lot of wild theories during the PT, but there were enough spoiler leaks and knowledge of how it would end to keep it under control. The ST had so much fresh possibility!

Snoke is the youngling from Revenge of the Sith, the one who asked Anakin "What are we going to do?" He survived, turned to the Dark Side, went into the Unknown Regions and became Snoke.
