Triceratops, because of the way the one in Fantasia stands up to the big bully T rex.

There were Triceratops in Fantasia - but I think it was a Stegosaurus (big spinal plates, spiked tail) that was the one with the big battle scene against Rex.

Yes, Stegasaurus and T. rex are tens of millions of years apart, and T. rex doesn't have 3 fingered hands - Fantasia didn't care. While Disney intended it to be Rex, I headcanon it as Allosaurus.

Well apparently, I haven't seen Fantasia in way too long, maybe since it first came out. When was that, the Jurassic period?

I think it was supposed to be the end of the Cretaceous, since some Triceratops are seen in the "walking through the desert and dying" sequence.

The Stegosaurus is the "out of its time" one.

The Land Before Time did the same thing - used dinosaurs from both Jurassic and Cretaceous.

As most ppl know (I think most ppl do, anyway...), "Jurassic Park" did the same thing--it combined animals from the Jurassic and Cretaceous eras. Of course, it's not the same thing storywise, but there's no reason that park should be called "Jurassic." Kinda odd, in a way; there's a greater time difference between the Jurassic and Cretaceous than between the Cretaceous and now.

I've been a dinosaur and megafauna fan for a long time. I literally squealed when I learned about the Quetzalcoatlus, the biggest flying creature that's ever lived. It had a wingspan of 45 ft (13.7 meters), or about the same size as a Learjet 45.

Keep in mind that 45 ft was the earliest figure, and later knowledge has shrunk it down to about 36 feet - still very impressive.

Pterosaurs, while not dinosaurs in the strictest sense, are extremely closely related to them.

I just want to say that while watching Jurassic World 2: Whatever Title, I was immensely disappointed to see the ankylosaur sold off first for the lowest bid of the bunch at the auction. It was like the movie makers just didn't care.

I feel like I'm among like-minded souls here who can commiserate.

The ankylosaurs tended to be among the least accurate JP animals, with with the combination of tail clubs with massive side spikes.

I had a orange T Rex model when I was little. The teeth glowed in the dark. I also had an Ankylosaurus model. You wound it up and he walked.

I had some dinosaur toys when I was younger. Honestly I think they are all pretty neat.

Life forms these days are all boring. Except turtles and crocodilians. Those are cool.

I've watched the first couple of episodes already of the "Prehistoric Planet" series on Apple+. It's really cool with the animation, and of course you cannot go wrong with David Attenborough's narration; the one slight issue I have is the names of pretty much every dinosaur in this show is completely foreign to me. Yeah, there's a T-Rex and some Velociraptors in it, but most of the names are just unfamiliar to just about anyone who isn't a Paleontologist. When I was much younger, there was Iguanodon, Pteranodon, Apatosaurus/Brontosaurus, etc. I think they're trying to make it sound more scientific by giving these odd sounding names; where you can't simply guess what the animal is.
