ST What don't you want to see in Episode 7?

- Sith
- Han shooting first. And in general Han being written as if he's still 30-40 years old.
- Solo/Skywalker kid as the main character.
- Cantina revisit.
- no goofiness allowed mentality.

THIS! Unless it's in flashbacks. I don't want to see them resurrected under any circumstance.

 

I agree, but I don't even want flashbacks. Flashbacks is (usually) lazy storytelling, and would also be a case of "have your cake and eat it too" (like, since Vader is dead they put him in a flashback so they can still have him in the trailer et.c.). Vader and Palpatine are dead, just deal with it and move on!

Those 15 minutes beat the entire Prequel Trilogy IMO. Why wouldn't you agree with the concept of Lord of the Rings with Lightsabers?

 

I don't know if they will be in the ST but that will happen in the spin-off movies.

 

Yeah, a spin-off movie would be good, I hope they do a movie set in the Old Republic era where they have this.

 

I don't have a problem with an Old Republic spin-off but a Sith Army in the saga would be awful IMO.

 

They will. I mean look at the first time we saw hundreds of Jedi in the same area fighting enemies. AOTC in the Execution Arena. Amazing scene but droids? That's the first enemy we get to an army of Jedi wage war against? Boo!

 

• Over-the-top romance (AOTC, anyone?)
• Excessive CGI
• Jar Jar/Gungans in general

 

Very little Darth Vader, unless it is specifically brought up by Luke/Leia talking about him in private. I love the SW movies, but I never liked when Lucas limited the scope of the main story of the PT about Darth Vader, essentially making it his character arc.

The ST puts an end to that because the story is now 1-9, and Darth Vader died in Episode 6. SW never needs to limit itself to one character, as I love that you can follow many characters. What made ANH & ESB great is that Luke, Leia and Han got equal time and character arcs in the story, so fans aren't limited to follow one to enjoy the story. The PT was essentially about Anakin Skywalker, and if you didn't love his story, you would never love the Trilogy.

 

This is a great thread idea. Some things I don't want to see:
Palpatine or Vader returning as villains
Han and Leia not married
Luke alone as a hermit
The Big 3 recast

 

Not necessarily I though Obi wan's and Yoda transition from the PT to the OT was flawless and Sidious... well he was such an evil git I loved it and made me mark out for his return in episode 6

For me... I don't know... I'm open to anything to be honest... Okay actually just one and thats no Bobba Fett or Darth Maul please, I'd rather a return of Jar Jar Binks

 

1. Dialogue and love scenes similar to AOTC.
2. A Death Star/super weapon.
3. Anyone resurrected.
4. A Jar Jar-like character.

 

This, times about one million. If there's any one, overriding concern on my part, it's absolutely this. Part of me thinks we've already seen crumbs of this line of thinking with the new film, too, but until we see legitimate evidence of plot, characters, actors cast, let alone actual footage, it's impossible for me to say it's going to happen like that. I remain hopeful for something really, really great, but I echo your concerns.

 

You don't want to see Jango Fett's grandson in the ST (played by the same actor in the PT because he is a clone).

A Prequel apology tour, or anything remotely resembling one.

 

I don't want to see a Skywalker turn to the dark side. As awesome as that was, need to capture that awesomeness with some other plot line...

 

Yeah, A Big 3 recast is a big no-no.

I also don't want to see any silly Disney references or something like that.
