Fanclub What Is Thy Bidding My Master? *Darth Vader Fanclub* (All Are Welcome)

It was okay, not a comic I'd read again. Unfortunatly the thing I remember the most is the temper tantrum version of Vader it presented. I like what Dark Horse did with a lot of star wars comics but one thing I didn't like was how they handled Vader at times, so hit or miss. Definitely prefer Marvel as well.

Vader is in a lot of marketing material for Rogue One, but never in action pose. He seems to play the role of the war leader rather than that of the warrior. But at the same time I don't think they could resist putting a Vader battle scene into the movie.

What do you think? How many battle scenes should we expect?

I think it might be a smart move to restrict Vader's actual battle scenes. He should be shown as extremely powerful once he meets the heroes. So powerful that their team wouldn't survive a second encounter with him and barely survives the first.

Completly agree with you. I want Vader to be that character that's in the background looming like a shadow and when he shows up it's basically game over for our heroes.

 

Well, I would like to see some Vader action on the field moping the floor with rebel scum.
Maybe a very brief scene of him in the battlefield before the camera cuts away ala Godzilla to show the main heroes doing their own side mission while everyone else is distracted with the battle. Then Vader later shows up again to chase them and kill them all, or mostly.

How long before we get another opportunity to see Vader in a movie again? I admit I would be a bit disappointed if the only thing he does in Rogue One is to find where the heroes went with the plans. Otherwise I agree with you, he should be shown as an unbeatable force of nature.

Out of curiosity, what do you guys think about re-canonizing the Bast castle?
Personally, I have never been that much of a fan of Vader living in a fortress on some gothic planet, it seemed a bit over the top for him. I always imagined his "home" was in his own Star Destroyer. Or some private ship. I think it fits better with his personality.

 

Most sailors have a home on land.

 

I think it makes sense for him to store his stuff, his darkside artefacts and writings, replacement suits and medical research in a fortress of his own. I guess that after he decided to move against the Emperor he needed some privacy. And maybe he needed a refuge where he could recover after his tiring missions.

So yes I like Bast Castle. I'm just not sure if it should be called a "castle" because a castle to me is this:



And that's not Vader-style imo.

 

I don't know. Both Ludwig and Vader were out of their minds!
