To be honest I loved little Boba! He was a mean little SOB with his dirty laugh and filthy look at Obi-wan.
And leave off his accent, the poor kids a kiwi!

And another thing 'Around the survivors a perimeter create' is the best line I've ever heard Yoda say.

No lines in Star Wars makes me "cringe", but I find most lines to be terrible...

I don't watch Star Wars for whitty diologue and superb acting; I watch Star Wars for pure fun :D

It's easier to ask "What lines did *not* make you cringe", but I understand that would be kinda off-topic ;)

    Anyway, how about:

    - Padme's über-fake laugh after Anakin says the forgettable line, "Don't worry, we have Artoo with us"

    - Or the unecessary convoluted, fantastically boring "Perhaps with merely your presence, the mystery surrounding this threat shall be revealed" .. or something like that

One of those two. I think.

Padme's über-fake laugh after Anakin says the forgettable line, "Don't worry, we have Artoo with us"

Oddly enough, I always thought Padme was just giving him a fake laugh to be polite [face_laugh] ... I never thought the character actually found the 'joke' funny...

I'll look at that scene a little differently next time I watch it!

Hmmm, well let me pick one.

A lot of the Fireside scene which has been discussed in much detail already.

Does anybody else think that Zam was a horrible actress? Her line "It was just a job" (paraphrasing) and her facial expression.

Anakin: (Yelling at Zam) "Tell us now!" With this horrible face.

There are more lines, these are just a few.

oh, yeah, there are some cringe lines. Like the part at the beginning where padme first meets anakin again and she says, "you'll always be that little boy i knew on tatoonie." SO CRINGE WORTHY. And then later on they fall in love, so weird. CRINGE. CRINGE.

    Let's get really nit-picky...

"The Banking Clan will sign your treaty."

Gosh, this line is soooo annoying. Not to mention that character is so lame. I can't stand that guy.

"Senator, we're making our final approach into Coruscant."

Another useless line by an annoying character. I wish I could strangle that guy. Get him outta the movie!

'Do you really think that's a wise decision under these stressfull times?' - Bail

    Awful! Terrible!

Obi-Wan's 'lecture' on the 'economics of politics'. Sounds like it was lifted from an essay by a thirteen year old.

The shame is, when the lines are good - like Obi-Wan and Jango's confrontation, Dooku's mockery of Obi-Wan, the movie is as great as any in the Star Wars canon.

Much of the dialogue is so cringeworthy that now to enjoy AotC I have to watch it on my own rather than suffer the embarrasment of a companion's derogatory snorts.

I hope Lucas has secretly had help with the Episode III dialogue. Then it could be OT level great.

Oh my god, you people are hilarious!
That whole "Master" skit was pretty funny! And this:

Everything said by Boba Fett. GOD, that kid's annoying. "Dah! Daun We heah!"

    lol! :)

Anyway, I'll try to stop laughing long enough to post coherently.

Agreed about little Boba. His "Yup!" line seems so out of place. I hate it.

The Jedi girl's "Hi-YAH!" is embarrassingly pathetic. The editing team ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Being female, I liked Anakin's love confession but geesh, Padme, stop being so wooden. I hated just about every retort she gave Anakin during the fireplace scene. Is there such a thing as underacting? Because that was the problem. This very handsome young Jedi is confessing undying love to you; feel something!

The "Don't worry; we have R2 with us!" line. Groan. And the laughter that follows it. Double groan.

She showed how uncomfortable she was, and that she knows that she can't fall in love with him, no matter what her feelings tell her. I believed it. ;)

I was always a little annoyed with the "We have R2 with us." OK, he was trying to sound funny, but come on man! You can do better! It would have been much funnier if Padme just gave him a confused look, which would embarrass Anakin. But hey, that's just my opinion.

AOTC is a good movie. :p

Cringe doesn't describe some of the line that were being passed off as well "lines".

    Here some classic:

"I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth"-Pure cheese!

"One day, I will become the greatest Jedi EVER!! I will even learn how to stop people from dying"

"We'd be living a lie. I couldn't do that. Could you Ani"

"From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by when I haven't thought of you. And now that I'm with you again.I'm in agony. The closer I get to you, the worse it gets. The thought of not being with you- I can't breath. I'm haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me. My heart is beating...hoping that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul, tormenting me.What can I do?- I will do anything you ask"

"If Obi-Wan caught me doing that, he would be very grumpy"

"It's all Obi-Wan's fault! He's jealous. He's holding me back"

"I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too! They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals! I HATE THEM"

    AND THE ANTI-CHRIST OF LINES:

"Around the survivors a perimeter create!!!!"

GL read this thread and make sure this doesn't happen again!(cough*Epi3*cough)

P.S. Most of the bad lines were said by Hayden.

I'm surprised that no one's mentioned my favorite cringe-worthy scene: Anakin's nightmare. I'll never forget the first time I saw EP2 in the theatre--when he came on screen with his hands beneath the covers, moaning "no, no!" the entire audience lost it. Now, whenever I watch that scene I can't help cringing. It gets worse when Padme says "I heard you last night..."

    <cringing as I type this>

"I don't like sand," says Anakin stiffly. "It's coarse and rough and irritates and it gets everywhere. Not like you...soft and smooth."

    That make me cringe totally...

"Artoo, what are you doing here?"

Padme said that as if Artoo had interrupted a pleasant dinner instead of a mother's funeral.

The worst ones for me are"

The totally flat & insincere,"I'm deeply sorry Master."

"Don't worry, we have R-2 with us." Very sing-songy.

Anakin to Padme when walking on Naboo:"I think the REpublic needs you. I'm glad you chose to serve." Sounds again very flat & insincere.

Most of the fireside scene, but my least favorite is "...the kiss you should have never given me" (Wait a minute - didn't HE kiss her?) & "hoping that kiss will not become a scar. You are in my very soul, tormenting me." He sounds like he's so angry, he's going to hit her!

Padme in her senator's apt: "If you excuse me, I will retire." UGHHHHH: Was it so hard to write, "Excuse me," or "I must get some sleep" or something better than that line!

Yoda: "Seeing you brings warm feelings to my heart." What happened to Yoda's usual way of speaking. But that's ruined by, "Around the survivor's a perimeter create."

    The thing about "aggressive negotiations."

I simply found nothing funny in that.

    Another:

    "I truly deeply love you."
