What scene in the Classic Trilogy moved you because of John Williams' score?

Here is my favorite music from the original Star Wars movies.

ANH:
-Chasm Crossfire;
When Han, Leia, Chewie, and Luke
were fighting Imperial stormtroopers
on board the first Death Star.
-The Battle of Yavin
-The Throne Room;
It sounds great
-Here They Come/
Tie Fighter Attack;
This track has an
epic and heroic feel
to it. It makes the
tie fighter battle
interesting.

ESB:
-The Battle of Hoth
-Beneath the AT-AT;
The music that plays
when Luke crash lands
near an AT-AT.
-Escape from Bespin;
The music that plays
when our heroes leave
Cloud City in the Millenium Falcon.
-Han and Leia's Theme;
It sounds romantic.
It worked well for the
kissing scene in the movie.
-The Asteroid Field;
It starts out slow
and becomes fast-paced,
later on. It has a slighty
epic, fun, and classical feel.

ROTJ:
-The Battle of Endor;
The music that plays when
the rebel fleet reaches Endor.
-Emperor's Death;
It is a very suspenseful piece.
-The Forest Battle;
It sounds fun, opera-like,
heroic, and a little bit suspenseful.
-The Ewok Parade;
It is a very happy-go-lucky tune.

 

Vader's funeral..

 

Vader & Luke duel in ROTJ. Although the acting in this part wasn't that good, the score is superb.

 

When Yoda lifts the x-wing out of the swamp. Gives me the chills.

 

Imperial March

 

ANH- Right before the Death Star blows up... tense!

ESB: "Clash of the Sabers", and right before the end credits. And the Imperial March. And "The Asteroid Field".

ROTJ: Luke's revelation to Leia. During that scene, the "Luke and Leia" theme plays, and it's just great. Also, when Luke charges at Vader, and when Anakin dies.

 

The sequence where Luke frantically fights Vader over the threat of him turning Leia to the Dark Side. I love, love, love that scene because of the music.

 

Definately the climax of the last Vader/Luke duel where Luke cuts off Vader's hand, the choral part there is awesome. Beyond that, Vader's funeral pyre, with the transition from that into the Victory Celebration.

ANH, When Obi-wan spots R2. The Binary Sunset... Can't remember!

ESB, Well this was when Darth Vader's theme was introduced, I mean come on!

ROTJ, When Vader falls back against Luke's attack on the Death Star, of course. The Victory Celebration always makes me smile, and Vader/Anakin's funeral burning always makes the tears flow!

In RotJ when Vader and Luke are in the hanger there is a short segment of music which is just a picilo being plucked. Simple but very effective for the scene.

The scene when Luke is watching both suns set. It's very powerful and says a lot with just the music and the whole look to it. The only scene in all the movies that comes close to this one is the ending in ROTS.

 

Death of Obi-Wan.

 

Return of the Jedi-when Luke delivers his final onslaught against hi father. Thier silhouettes cast against the whirling red and green glow of thier lightsabers. John Williams' haunting and beautiful score with the soft choir echoing an almost cooing sound. Not bombastic, but more powerful than any other piece of music in the original trilogy, in my opinion of course.

 

in new hope when luke is looking at the setting of the twin suns...whatever the song is there i get the goosebumps everytime i hear it...my girlfriend and i were watching the blue harvest family guy and i got the goosebumps when it played.

 

I'll add my voice to the choruses for the ANH binary sunset scene and theme. Stunning and emotionally evoking.

And in ESB with the Falcon racing back for Luke...teetering balance of good and evil. John Williams is the man.

 

I agree with the music cue when Luke attacks Vader at the end of RotJ. My favorite will always be the force theme breaking up the bombast of the trench run when Obi wan tells Luke to use the force...and the driving music that follows when he Luke turns off his targeting computer. I'm also a big fan of the swelling music when Yoda pulls the X-wing out of the swamp in the ESB.

 

Um, he doesn't yell "Darth".

 

Also the sail barge battle music is pretty great, starting from when Luke is forced out onto the plank.

 

The music when Luke and Vader duel at the end of ROTJ is some of my favorite music in the OT as well.

 

I agree. That one and the next scene in the Emperor's Throne Room. I remember X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter had this lovely mix of that one into the music in ESB's last scene with Luke getting his and replaced and the Falcon flying off. They really went well together.

 

There are too many scenes to count - the music is such a HUGE part of what we're experiencing. For me to do this thread justice would require me switching from taking to humming!

 

Absolutely. I'll add the binary sunset as a second for me.

 

When Darth Vader was fighting Luke in Empire. Playing the darkside music when Luke gets beat up is just sickening for kids.

ANY-The opening fanfare, I remember first hearing this and I thought WOW!!!

ANH-The Cantina Band-I don't know why but I just love this peace.
