Brooklyn Nine-Nine- "Chocolate Milk"... Some really fabulous stuff with Captain Holt, Terry, Jake & Santiago here; the Boyle-Gina-Diaz subplot was so-so, but good enough. The opening bit with the squad room making fun of Terry's impending vasectomy ("I guess you'll no longer be head of the tip line.") was classic.
24, season 1, second hour. i never watched this show before, but now that it streams for free on amazon prime, i'm checking it out. in this episode, kiefer sutherlands cuts off the thumb of a guy he just killed in order to id him later (at least i think that's what he did - i was doing sit-ups at the time and due to my viewing angle, it was difficult to make out exactly what was happening). i hope the entire series is made up of ridiculous stuff like this - if so, i'm going to really enjoy watching it.
i'm still just re-watching 30 rock. the last episode i saw was the one with steve martin guest starring as the eccentric agoraphobic millionaire who is actually under house arrest for tax fraud, and also part of the cast of night court reuniting to make kenneth feel better after he's forced to wear a new jacket. this show just packs in so many jokes and almost all of them work. it's great.
Boardwalk Empire- "Devil You Know"... one of the most riveting episodes of this series, given some of the unexpected developments that take place.
The Affair, "Pilot." Probably one of the strongest first episodes I've seen. It has some unexpected similarities to True Detective.
that was my impression from the trailer or whatever it was i saw. like it could be good, but it could be really terrible too.
i've started watching house of cards i'm struggling to find any character i actually like though. i know that's kinda the whole point, but, i'm wondering if it'll be too much eventually. the reporter girl is probably the worst. also the whole slugline office/ethos/hipster vibe makes me cringe
Finished the first season of hemlock grove. I feel like I shouldn't be watching it but I can't help it
Sherlock, Series 1, The Great Game. Wanted to see what the big deal is and I have to say, I've been enjoying it. But Benedict's face is still weird.
