I had a sewing needle stuck in my foot once when I was younger, it was pretty far in, an inch or so at least. Taking it out hurt like hell.

Syrynge wise, probably the back of my knee.

That reminds me. My parents were helping a friend repair their roof and I tagged along for the ride. (I was eight). Naturally there were nails all over the ground. Being a stupid 8 year old I didn't listen to my parents and instead went outside to play. I climbed a tree and jumped off ... right into a nail that was sticking upright. Not fun.

Does a nail count as a needle? :p

    Yeah, it counts, why not?

I think I made a mistake on my first post...it wasn't the base of my neck...it was the base of my SKULL. And it's all pinching and hurty on the left side now. :(

I dunno about needles, I've had a bunch of medical proceedures. The one that hurt the worst was when they pulled staples out of my chest after I had open heart surgery. No anethestia given when pulling them out either. Didn't numb it up or anything, just clipped them and pulled them out, one at a time. I was crying like a baby by the end of it.

I also had to have my blood gasses tested earlier this year. That hurt worse than an IV going in.

    Edited for grammar :p

    Yes!

I knew I could use the trauma of my eight-year-old experience one of these days. :p

Well, when you have a baby and they do an episiotomy and you haven't had an epidural they put a needle in a VERY uncomfortable place.... :_|

Do I REALLY need to go into details?

QFT. The worst for me was 15 shots of novacaine during oral surgery.

Eh, you really don't want PPOR for that. The procedure involves cutting the skin (which is supposed to be less traumatic than letting it rip), which is decidedly unsexy.

Prolly along my gums for having teeth pulled.

If anyone stuck a needle in my eye they'd be dead before they could react, I'm that serious. [face_plain]

Getting stuck with a needle through the testicles would be very very very very very very very very very very very painful.

I don't know why, but I've always pictures having a vigina as being very painful. Although, I certainly wouldn't volunteer having one of my testicles injected with something, either.

Well, I voluntarily got a needle put through the flap of skin above my navel. That hurt enough where I'm not sure I'll have it done again.

The mother of all painful needle sticks for me thus far would have to be the time I got my meningitis vaccine. For some reason, they thought it necessary to give me the shot in the triceps, and I don't know whether they hit a nerve, but the pain and pressure were enough where I had to lie down for a few minutes until it stopped hurting there.

Every other needle stick I've had felt the same as the last one. Not pleasant, but nothing very memorable.

Ick, episiotomies are scary. Though there's mounting evidence that they may not always be necessary, so I think it's unfortunate that a lot of hospitals pretty much do them routinely. I read this book once about natural methods of childbirth and things like that, and a lot of the women were able to make do without episiotomies by massaging the area a lot to loosen it up. Anyway, I digress.

The needle they stick you with when you give blood is a little scary because it's so high gauge it looks more like a straw than a needle. I can still faintly see my blood donor scar on my right arm, and my last donation was over a year ago, so I'm not sure the spot will ever fully heal over.

The worst medical procedure I've ever undergone, though, was having to get a cystoscopy and neurourological exam. I kept having unexplained bladder pain and constant urges to pee, not due to a UTI as far as my doctor could tell, so he recommended that I get a bladder exam to check whether there were any "basketballs" growing in there. (His words, not mine - some bedside manner, eh? ;) ) Anyway, it's hella painful because they take this little fiber optic tube with a camera in it and stick it up your urethra so they can look around in your bladder (with no painkillers). And since my whole urethra and bladder was really swollen and irritated to begin with... yeah. It was pretty painful. That's something I'd rather not experience again.

Most painful, the tetanus shot followed by another for hepititis B in the same general spot and at the time, no one had told me you were supposed to relax your muscles. Ouch!
