Who is the most tortured Superhero?

A superhero, the Punisher is not.

Oh yeah, and what do you mean he WAS married to MJ. They never divorced.

DartSuperBatPooh: Actually, very few Superheroes are really motivated to fight crime. or at least ina suffering way. Most superheroes just go "Hey, cool powers. might as well ue them to help mankind."
Batman, Robin, Spider-Man, and DareDevil were the only guys that were really put into fighting crime.

 

I think Handy Man Was tortured pretty bad but only by other peoples comments not by physical pain.

definitely superman. i mean, this guy not only lost his parents, but his whole frikkin planet. sure he's got all the super human powers, but he ends up helping the entire world, not just metropolis. he basically has the weight of the world on his shoulders.

spiderman has nothing on supe.

 

I'd say it's a tie between Gary Coleman and Michael Landon. They both were angels who were sent to earth by god to help people out. That must really suck, to be up in Heaven, diggin' the good life, and then have to come back to Earth to help out fat people who aren't motivated to exercise.

 

Spawn's gonna go to hell?? Bummer!

 

The audience. We have to die of excitement everytime our favourite superhero gets into trouble. Since death or suffering seems to be the determining factor, hey, why not us?

On a less corny note, I would say Darth Vader. If you would consider him a superhero, that is.

 

Some great cases have been made for the most tortured superheroes. Hulk, Batman, Spider-Man, Spawn...they are all right up there.

So, although he's may not be all that tortured, and not really a superhero, I'll toss out a new name:

Magneto.

Hey, he'd been put through hell with the Holocaust, and although he's commonly thought of as a villian, he's really just a tortured soul. A tragic character.

All he wants is for the world to live in peace. Ebony & Ivory, livin' together in harmony; side by side on his keyboard...I digress.

Constantly stopping him from achieving his dreams is his best friend. His best friend! Some friend.

Poor guy.


Seriously, I cannot decide on who is the MOST tortued superhero, but I'd say that the top two might be Batman and Spawn.

I mean, the guy is a simple, ultra-conservative mormon from Utah--just tryin' to spread the word of the Gospel to the masses of Hollywood. And then all of a sudden this gangster porn director forces him to do adult movies against his will...under pain of torture and death....

It doesn't get to be much more torture than that, my friends...






My other choices would have to be either Batman, Spider-man or Spawn....

I love that show, I miss the South.

In General All of them are Torture but they fight to over come it for the better of others..that's what make them A Hero.

But if I had to boil it down to the most it got to be BATMAN .

Most of the others that have been mentioned were heroes as a result of some unfortunate occurance in their life, but Batman willfully decided to torture himself by going out every night to stop the "murder" of his parents by waging an unbeatable war against crime.

In the comics to get access to the Batcave he turns the grandfather clock in the mansion above to the time his parents got shot, talk about self torture.

Follow closely is Jon Sable . His originally face paint in his Origin is the Ashes of his burn home and family (wife and kids) after they were brutally murdered.
