In their one straight-up fight, Vader got demolished. Galen beat him so badly he looked like this afterwards.



Not only did he crush Vader, immediately afterwards he went after Palpatine and held back Sidious's lightning just as well as Yoda did.



If he'd just had a bit of backup or some extra training, Starkiller might just have been able to end the Sith right there on the Death Star. Galen's potential was so immense. Who knows what kind of future he could have had as a non-Sith Force Wielder.

 

How is Starkiller any worse than Rey? Starkiller had his whole life of dark-side training to perform his feats. Rey had absolutely none and was mind-tricking people first time at bat, dueling Kylo Ren like a pro, etc.

 

Rey didn't pull a ISD from orbit, casually murder Jedi Masters, or found the Rebel Alliance.

 

You didn't play TFU on its highest difficulty then. Starkiller got casually murdered by lone stormtroopers lol .

 

The Last Jedi comes out in December.

 

Isn't murdering Jedi masters the whole point of having a Sith apprentice?

 

The Jedi are just practice to get your apprentice up to par so the two of you can double-team the Sith Master. Speaking of that, I wonder how Starkiller and Vader might have done against Sidious if they teamed up instead of Vader stabbing his apprentice in the back every chance he got

I think their point was that with the cinematic quick time events it can seem like Starkiller totally overwhelmed these top Jedi masters. If you have just personally spent an hour trying to beat the Jedi master on the higher difficulty levels, constantly seeing Starkiller get killed, you don't get that same sense of overpowering, it instead feels like a really hard fought battle that he only just survived.

 

Starkiller trained all his life to fight Jedi Masters, I don't think him actually succeeding once or twice at something he literally trained his whole life to do makes him overpowered.

Jedi, even Jedi Masters, are not invincible. Remember what Qui-Gon told Anakin when Anakin claimed no one could kill a Jedi: "I wish that were so."

 

I also maintain Shaak-Ti survived since she's a Beastmaster and it's a monster which doesn't kill you automatically to fall into.

 

Can this thread go back to the more general topic instead of debating the merits of Starkiller yet again?

 

Okay. I've posted this elsewhere in the forums but I can't get much discussion going about it, so maybe this is the place for it. I really believe that these guys are canon's version of the sorcerers of Rhand and the old guy is canon's version of Cronal, he is even wearing the sunset crown.

You guys can't take all by letter! Of course starkiller is overkill in TFU, it's a video game, it's supposed to be fun! When I talk about liking to have starkiller in the canon, I'm talking about the concept of a vader secret apprentice that is very strong with the force! We don't need to see I'm on screen demolishing a platoon of stormtroopers plus 3 walkers and in the end crushing a ISD (but that would be epic )! That said... Yes starkiller would be great...

Yes, because a torture-obsessed slaver and fallen Jedi is the same as a misguided young man raised by the Sith.

I want Darth Vader's Sith apprentice who rebels against him because he realizes the Sith are awful people.

I want basically Luke as trained by Vader.

I want the character of Galen Marek, the awkward Darth Maul esque teen redeemed by the power of love.

I want the ending promised by TFU2 where the Rebellion turns on him when they discover he's a Jedi Killer and accidentally leads to Vader slaughtering their HQ.

I remember still being angry about having my essay on Starkiller rejected by a Star Wars website because the owner dismissed TFU.

 

I'm not sure why people are arguing against Starkiller being brought in because of how over the top he was in TFU. He wouldn't need to, and likely wouldn't, be that overly strong. And if he were to be in any game, animated show, or something live action that would mean more Sam Witwer. And I will dual to the death anyone that claims that to be a negative.
