Indeed and as I stated before, were the battle to go long term I am sure you would be correct. But my understanding was the thread was based on single battle confrontations, not repeat conflicts. Were this a single battle as I believe the intention to be, I simply don't see the Cylons having much of a chance.

And as you stated the Cylons had to disappear for four decades to formulate an effective plot to take down humanity, and they are still in pursuit of that goal. Humanity being a far less dangerous adversary than the Borg, has proven to be an adequate foil against the Cylon plans. Not to mention they required the element of surprise in just about every attack, against an enemy they had spent decades studying. Thats not an advantage they have against the Borg in either case.

IMO I would figure that the Cylons would infiltrate the Borg, retain their identities, and simply take over. OR, they would possibly become some form of hybrid that would renounce their Cylonhood and take out both the Borg and any remaining non-Borg Cylons.

 

Assimilation doesn't seem to work that way though. If the experiences of Picard and Seven are any indication, the individual drone's personality does seem to remain intact, but submerged.

 

I just think Cylon will power will be far superior and they would not remain submerged, but oh well.

Ok, it is time for an ultimate showdown. Lock the doors, hide the kids, this could hurt.

This match up should be retitled to "Roundhouse Kick vs. Double-fist Uppercut" because that's the only move that each respective combatant knows.

Kirk for the following reasons:

1) The motivational posters described above.

2) Kirk's shirt is gold. He isn't some silly redshirt. I mean, things that kill redshirts instanly do what to Kirk? Oh no, the shirt got torn boo hoo. It's like redshirts are made of tissue paper and gold shirts are kevlar.

3) As a corralary, any time Norris attacks, some redshirt will stumble in and take the hit, as required by plot device.

4) Norris may have all the facts, but a statistical analysis of Star Trek indicates Kirk always gets the ladies.

After giving this some thought I'll have to vote for Kirk also. However, his victory only comes as a technicality. Normally, Chuck Norris would triumph easily. But as Skye pointed out, Kirk will never be injured more severely than a few bruises and the aforementioned ripped shirt. There will always be a redshirt getting in the way of any finishing blow. Thus, Kirk can never be defeated.

Chuck Norris can be defeated as has been shown by Bruce Lee. Bruce is a far superior fighter when compared to Kirk but the redshirt factor eventually tips the scales in Kirk's favor.

A fight between Bruce Lee and Kirk would last for all eternity.
