Seriously, I think the reason the Empire switched to non-clone troopers was for multiple reasons. Part of the reason why that a recruited army will give the Emperor a larger resource of people loyal to the Imperial system and an investment. Luke Skywalker wanted to defect to the Rebellion like Biggs *BUT* Tank was every bit the sort of potential rebel they were--yet the Imperial system made him loyal. It also made all of the nobility and Senators and so on eager to get in on the Moffships, generaldoms, and so on Palpatine was passing around like candy.

But really, WHY NOT? What's the downside?

I have to say that he do looks like a 65 year old man can look in our time, the trouble for me is that he has spent around 20 years on Yavin IV without any modern (by our or Star Wars standard) equipment but the once his ship had with it. He should be more worn and even more prematurelyaged

Öh he crashed here they would have found him on Yavin ;)

and he did have the equipment left behind during the crash, which would include medpacks, food, some camping gear etc.

He can get food locally, the planet clearly has wild life and he would only need the medpacks if something went wrong.

20 years, my coldblooded friend, 20 years. And BL-1707 had probably the most wildness survival training and no knowledge in farming

He has tools along with lots of time ;) also not even really a need for farming as he can collect, or simply cultivate, fruits.

Day 13: have found out that the blues moss is fleash eating and that something I ate was laxative. When I can leave the latrine, I have to find out if it was the blue-, purple-, or yellow-red-fruits, the roots or maybe the "rat-boar", . Also I have to work hard if I want to prevent the green moss from covering the ship.

But yes, honestly, humanity never would have survived if we had to cultivate farmland.

Granted, being a castaway isn't a GOOD life.

Ko Sai, Uthan, Arla Fett was in no position to consent, Zilka was basically forced into it, and arguably Scout and Kina Ha as well.

Kina Ha and Scout came willingly, technically, though it was either that or die by the Empire. Ko Sai was scum and she died anyways; she never became part of any "Skirata cult" for sure. Arla Fett...well, they saved her, really. The Republic was doping her up so high she would've hit orbit pretty soon. Uthan? Okay, Skirata isn't a perfect man and he does what he has to for his boys. Zilka is the one I was referring to earlier. And that was regrettable in and of itself; the whole situation was, really. But it was, just like Kina Ha and Scout, either that or stay on Coruscant and get arrested for a crime she didn't commit. It wasn't even the Skiratas' fault that the crime was traced to Zilka. Just a bad mixup from Republic Intelligence.

But really, Zilka and Uthan were the only ones "abducted." The others were rescued. (Okay, Ko Sai. Again, though, she doesn't count.)

I think we are talking above each other. What I am trying to say is not that that Able should not have survived but that his body should have been more worn out when they find him

SW Explorer gear comes with Food scanners. :p Give these people some slack, if the Rebel Alliance Spec Forces have such fancy stuff the Grand Army ought to.

I know, I know, but then we only see him in his Armour, he might be wasting away below that until he gets back to the Rebel Fleet.
